Situated only a mile from Hadrian’s Wall and enjoying spectacular uninterrupted open views across the wild and wonderful Northumbrian countryside nestles The Horseshoe; a charming self-catering cottage in a beautiful rural setting. Forming part of an idyllic complex of five other holiday cottages, the accommodation within The Horseshoe is conveniently placed all on ground floor level. The property is well presented throughout. The full length glass doors in the lounge enhance its bright and airy ambience and drinks in the simply stunning vistas. The private patio is the idyllic spot to dine alfresco and watch the sun sink. Every effort has been made to ensure these delightful cottages offer eco-friendly accommodation. Dogs are particularly welcome to The Horseshoe; a wild grass meadow has been designed with your pet in mind.  Enjoy a morning scamper through the field opposite The Horseshoe or an evening stroll and listen to the call of the curlew soaring high above. The Horseshoe boasts an elevated position in the very heart of ‘Hadrian’s Wall Country, set within England’s largest Heritage site - the most northerly of National Parks. 
The Horseshoe can be booked independently or together with The Bothy (CC334050), Tackroom Cottage (CC334059), Stable Cottage (CC334060), Granary Cottage (CC334061) and The Farmhouse (CC334080) to accommodate the gathering of family and friends.

Ground Floor: Property is all on ground floor level with eco friendly heating and comprises:
Lounge/Diner: With electric ’stove effect’ fire, Free view TV, DVD and radio/CD; patio doors with uninterrupted rural views.
Kitchen: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box and washing machine
Bedroom: With double bed
Bathroom: With shower over bath, WC and wash basin

All electricity and bed linen included. Folding bed available (for + 1). Cot and high chair available.Private patio with outdoor furniture. Off road parking for 1 car.

    The location is rural but, that's what we wanted. Very quiet and peaceful with stunning views. The cottage is very comfortable with everything you would need. Ideal base for visiting the Roman settlements and Hadrian's wall. The only issue we had was the low water pressure, that wasn't good for showering. Other than the small issue with the water pressure we highly recommend these cottages.

    Enjoyed our stay at this pretty cottage and even though there were 4 other cottages it was not overlooked and felt private . The scenery from the window was breathtaking. The only thing it lacked was an enclosed garden for our 2 dogs but we did know there wasn't one when we booked.

    The cottage was located in idylic surroundings with stunning views. There was a welcome basket full of goodies upon our arrival, which was much appreciated after a long journey. The owners were very helpful and friendly offering advice about local amenitiies and walks in the area. Our dogs loved the outdoor garden/meadow to run around in each day, where we could sit and watch them safely playing from our private patio area while enjoying a relaxing glass of wine.
