Absolutely amazing! Loved every minute, just what our family needed. Quality time together. 5 minutes drive from Harlech beach. Which was Amazing. 10 minutes drive from Porthmadog. Cottage 2 minute away from country walk through the hills, perfect for us and our 2 dogs but quite steep walks. Will be booking again. Probably the most relaxing holiday ever and we got to take our dogs!

The Barn is charming and private with easy access to the mountains and beach fabulous views. It's pet friendly which is important to us but does not scrimp on comfort and style. Will be booking again.

The photos don't do this property justice......it's surprisingly cosy yet very spacious . Fabulous views. Great place from which to explore the coastline and Snowdonia. Lovely 'pub grub' at the local dog friendly pub!

The cottage was lovely and had stunning views. ideally situated close to lots if interesting places to visit,Porthmadog, Harlech, Caernarfon , Criccieth, Pwllheli. There are two lovely beaches one in harlech and black rock sands in Porthmadog. Shell Island is not to far either.Host very welcoming. defiantly stop there again. Would recommend a trip on Ffestiniog railway lovely scenery. well worth a visit. Had a great week.

We had an amazing time at the barn, and it was perfect for our short break with 2 dogs. Local amenities were not great, but if you research the area before you book you know that when you book so as long as you're prepared it's not an issue. The views from the cottage are absolutely amazing and we were lucky to have such good weather to be able to enjoy them. If I had a minor niggle, it would be that the double bed wasn't the most comfortable, but not bad enough to cause problems. It was one of the best cottages we've stopped in for the level of comfort & equipment we had, there really wasn't anything you could ask for. Would highly recommend to anyone !!

What is not to like about the Barn? This is our second visit and it won't be our last! Talsarnau is a rural location so no, there is not a lot in terms of local amenities but Harlech is literally 5 minutes drive up the road and has a good range of shops and a small Spar. The Barn is in a beautiful location and is so well equipped it is literally a home from home. (the only thing I don't like is the lack of a bath and that is purely down to my little one not liking showers!) There is a new play area just behind The Ship Aground (which does lovely food) and there are lots of walks in the immediate area. This location is dog heaven! The Barn's owner, Rhian is fabulous; the home-made cake, milk and wine were very much appreciated after a long drive. She is a wealth of local knowledge and our little one enjoyed telling her about our adventures whenever she got the chance. Nothing was too much trouble for Rhian. None of the main attractions of Snowdonia are far from the Barn - we had a glorious week exploring them all. If you have little ones, the farm park just south of Harlech is worth a visit. Many thanks for a wonderful cottage - we can't wait to come back.

This was not very wheelchair friendly there is slate stones by the ramp so wheelchair kept on getting stuck and the parking area my wheelchair adapted vehicle was not able to use as area was unlevel my dog died the day we arrived unexpectedly and tried to contact the owner for help with vets and rang her over twenty times but they never never answered there phone and said in emergency ring this number. There sins dog was staying there and when I friend went to the house to speak to the lady it nipped him on the leg. There was no instructions on how to use heating cooker etc and the pans supplied handles where broken the washing line was broken. There are great views here and a good location for getting around shower really good but not disability friendly I would not go again as considering what we paid and Not Wheelchair Friendly

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry that, unlike the vast majority of our customers, you did not find The Barn to your liking. The property is all on one level, with a slope up to the main entrance which allows access for wheelchairs. We feel this is suitable for wheelchair users and disabled guests. We are not sure if the loose stones next to the ramp made it difficult for you however we will try to make adjustments. We are deeply saddened to hear of your loss and we can only apologise that you were unable to reach us by phone. Going forward, a mobile number will be provided for emergencies and this will be noted in the Guest Book. There are instructions in the kitchen drawer for the cooker and dishwasher. We have checked all the pans and they are all perfectly serviceable and in good working order. The rotary line has been replaced, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Previous guests have always enjoyed their stay at The Barn and this is reflected in their scores and comments. We only wish that we had been able to speak to you during your stay so that we could have made it more comfortable for you.
