I wold defo recommend this place. The owner was lovely even though he wasn't there. Gave me full instructions and directions. Nice and secluded. Me and my friends had a great time. Would definitely go again. Was a good weekend. Even though the weather was not great, the shelter was great over the hot tub

We had a great week at The Barn. The house is set in the most beautiful countryside and has stunning views from almost every window. The house itself was very quirky and characterful with most of the kitchen basics etc you would expect to find. The hot tub was a real treat and was cleaned (unobtrusively) every day. We would definitely consider another stay here.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday and The barn was perfect for us. Its a little tired in terms of fixtures and fittings but with 4 kids and a dog that suited us as we weren't treading on eggshells all week. The hotub was great to have but was a bit grubby on the first night, we mentioned this to the cleaner (who comes every day) and she sorted it out straight away. We all said we would definitely go back and if your looking for a nice spacious property in a good location for the mountains then The Barn could be for you.

This was a great venue for a large group, squeeky floor boards were annoying however as well as bedroom windows without curtains or blinds! It took a bit to workout how to use the oven, clear instructions would have been very helpful. Hot tub was great, showers good & beds comfortable.

Its a bit remote but with a car ok. The barn is comfortable and catered for our needs. As a surprise 30th is was just the right location and size for our get together I would love to do this again at Christmas. Would highly recommend.

Spacious, warm and clean place with all amenities available. Great location! Only problem was the very squeaky floorboards when anyone walking about late at night.

The barn is a good place for a large group of friends. Its is in need of a little updating and inpractical with thick carpets in the kitchen area and no working hoover to speak off, but well equipped in the kitchen and usign the aga was easy as novice. The downstairs bedroom was very drafty and cold and all decor a little tired. The single beds in the twin room were well beyond their best and thankfully were only used a couple of nights, the other bedrooms were of a higher standard. The Hot Tub was not working the whole week we were there with the exception of one afternoon for a couple of hours and the water went off one night as well, this was resolved quite quickly but there was no attempt to get anyone to fix the hot tub; and we did ask. The care taker apologised everyday but stated the owners could not get an electrician, we dont accept that as an excuse. For this reason we would not stay again as this was a key factor for choosing the property as base from which to celebrate a special birthday. The Brown Cow pub is worth a vist, a little gem and about a miles walk over hills, very breezy and need walking boots but well worth the walk. Overall we had a great stay its a shame our enjoyment was spoiled by the broken facilities that we feel were reflected in the price we paid and therfore I cant score it any higher.

Great for family bookings hot tub was great lovely and warm plenty of equipment for cooking with big table for all to eat around. Kids loved being altogether for the weekend. Only downside if you sleep in a downstairs bedroom you can hear the floorboards creeping every time someone upstairs moves about other than that would recommend to others and would visit again ourselves

Beautiful cottage and location, with lovely fire and sofas. The owners provided helpful folder with walks and local information. Only issue is that it is a bit far from local ammunities, so food shopping was a bit of a nightmare, perhaps the owners could leave essentials like bread and milk upon arrival. The hot tub was great and warm, however the fuel that I paid 15 pound extra for was not value for money. It only provided a warm enough fire for one night, meaning the room got chilly quick. Also, we were only left one toilet roll per bathroom, which wasn't nearly enough for two nights, surely these are essentials. Overall, great value for money and lovely cottage.

Would definately stay again. Perfect for our weekend away to relax and catch up. The local pub was very welcoming and the food was lovely if you decide to venture out. Will be recommending !

A lovely property. Plenty of room, nice to have a hot tub on site too. Shame that the creaky floor boards made it feel like you were crossing a nightingale floor every time, and nobody could go to the bathroom in the night without waking the whole house. Also no phone line or WiFi for our stay. Overall very pretty though in a nice part of the country.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. As the Barn is a 17th Century building, noisier floor boards and low beams are quite common. This is a very big property with only 3 of the 5 bedrooms on the top floor and on separate sides of the house, so far enough away from each other, we believe, not to cause too much disturbance. Unfortunately BT are the only supplier and are doing some engineering work in the area which is causing problems for our neighbours and ourselves. The phone line is all working now.
