Description

All on one floor, this property has a multi-fuel burner, which makes it very cosy at any time of year.

Ideal touring base

This detached holiday bungalow is set in a quiet area of the village of Carrbridge, sheltered by mature trees, and ideally positioned for woodland walks which are close by and touring the Cairngorm National Park. All on one floor with good furnishings and fittings, the multi-fuel burner makes it a cosy property at any time of the year. Aviemore, 7 miles, is known for its good skiing as well as riding, watersports and golf. Inverness is 24 miles away where you can visit castles, museums, or take a walk along the river banks. There is golf locally, one less than a mile away and one half an hour drive away - a championship course at Nairn, on the Moray Firth Coastline. Near to the property is a bowling green and Landmark Park, Scotland’s most exciting heritage park. Further south, in Kingussie, is the Highland Wildlife Park where wolves, Siberian tigers and a host of other animals can be seen. There are many historical houses and castles in the area to visit or follow the Whisky Trail to the numerous distilleries. Also nearby is the Cairngorm Whisky Centre, which has whisky-making presentations and a tasting room with over 100 brands of whisky. Great hillwalking, bird watching, off road cycling, mountain biking, climbing and skiing can be also found in the region (storage is available for all outdoor sports equipment and a ski rack in utility room). Regular train service from Carrbridge. There is lots to see and do for all ages. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

An excellent base for a mixed age family group. We had everything we needed for our family aged between 5 and 85. The house provided all we needed accommodation and equipment wise and the local amenities allowed all ages to enjoy the holiday.

This is a very large house which would suit a family. The French doors in the living room give a good view into the large garden. We took our own bird feeder and food which gave us hours of entertainment as there was a large variety of species locally. There are neighbouring homes on both sides of the cottage but nothing directly behind, and there is loads of off road parking. The owners only supply hand towels so make sure to take larger ones with you (the owner did pre warn us). Also there was only a small supply of dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc. I only mention this as other cottages we have stayed in have supplied enough to cover your stay and this surprised us. Overall this is comfortable holiday home in an area that is great for walking and fabulous wildlife in amazing scenery.
