My family and i had a lovely week at swallows nest, we were made very welcome by the owners and the cottage is cosy, well equipped and has very comfortable beds. Despite the horrible weather we had a great time as the cottage is only a short drive from Tintagel, boscastle etc. Although dogs are welcome here i was very impressed with the cleanliness, not a single dog hair anywhere. The only thing i missed was a tumble drier, there is a washing line outside but we couldn't really use it due to the rain( the lovely owner dried our beach towels on her arga one day, which was very thoughtful.) We were very sad to leave and would highly recommend this excellent holiday home from home.

We booked Swallows Nest rather at the last minute when we realised we would need to take our dog with us. Although we are familiar with Devon we had never stayed this side of Dartmoor before, but had no trouble finding the cottage as the directions are very clear. Although the cottage is in a very quiet and rural location, there is a lovely wide road just outside the village and you can be in Launceston very quickly for shopping. The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly suggesting places of interest in the local area as well as where to find petrol and handy shopping. As for the dog there was walking access just outside the back door with interesting local wildlife and a pleasant walk. There are various places of interest to visit nearby and Dartmoor and the North Cornish coast are a short drive away. It’s also a great base for exploring Dartmoor in all its moods. The cottage itself was very comfortable and quickly felt like home. We intend to return next year as there is so much we would still like to see and the cottage is a wonderful place to stay.

Very good accommodation, but a good distance from any facilities. Good walking area, but car always needed for shopping and eating out.
