Description

This property is located in Brandesburton, and is part of a complex, which has its own enclosed garden and decked patio area.

"Peace and tranquillity set amongst Yorkshire’s finest countryside and long stretches of magnificent beaches..."

Steeped in history these former barn buildings have been lovingly restored using all of the original materials. Presented to a very high standard and offering spacious accommodation, each holiday cottage has its own enclosed garden and decked patio area for sole use, to while away the hours overlooking stunning paddocks where deer and foxes play. Guests have free use of the owners’ private indoor heated swimming-pool, a communal games room and a children’s play area. The complex is surrounded by open countryside and a newly planted broad leaf woodland area, and is only four miles from the pretty village of Brandesburton. Oaklands wedding venue is situated in the 150 acres of woodland that surround the properties. Struncheon Hill Farm is a haven for those who enjoy having fun around water with a river, lake and pond nearby. Fishing, canal cruises and a Jet Ski and Diving School are less than half a mile from the door. Visitors will find locally an 18-hole golf course, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, a parachute and gliding centre, and an RSPB bird sanctuary.
Just a short drive leads to the traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey with miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, colourful promenades, inns and tea rooms in abundance, offering the perfect family day out. Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools. For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side. For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of ‘The Shambles’, packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours.
Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall with its large collection of Monet and Renoir paintings, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a
30-minute drive away. The attractive market town of Beverley 12 miles away, where visitors can enjoy ancient cobbled streets, quaint shops and friendly local people, completes the area of peace and tranquility surrounding Struncheon Hill Farm. Shops, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

We stayed for four nights ( one adult, 6 teenagers, 2 dogs) at February half term. The cottage has been beautifully converted from a barn, and is very spacious. On arrival, a welcome pack and flowers was a nice touch, and the cottage was very clean. Beds were comfy, and made up on arrival. The swimming pool was a hit with the kids, and they enjoyed a daily visit ( which also took pressure off the one shower in the property). The paddock behind the cottage was brilliant for the dogs- who loved the space to race round in. The location is beautiful, and very peaceful. Lack of WiFi encouraged conversation, DVD watching and lots of board games, which was good fun! The weather was kind to us ( beautiful blue skies) part from one day when we drove to Mcarthur Glen outlet at York for a change of scene. Days out in Bridlington were enjoyed, as was the amazing Pizzaria in Brandesburton ( Berts) We had a couple of niggles - a broken Pyrex dish in the cupboard resulted in a badly cut thumb, several light bulbs were out, and the shower dials were missing. Our main gripe was the smoke detector was bleeping on arrival ( low battery) and although we raised it with a young man who identified himself as a worker, and said he would pass it on, no one came to replace the battery. We ended up having to remove it, potentially comprising safety.

WONDERFUL. We had an amazing time. I loved everything about Four Bays, the reason for 8 on location is because the men in our party couldnt really walk to the pub and one had to drive, 9 for value because everyone wants things a little cheaper. We all loved our New Year break. The pool was out of this world and used each day. Our children aged 24,22,19,18 and the dogs had an absolute ball. We had to be a family, which in the age of technology doesnt happen. All of them saying it was the best New Year they had had. We talked, walked, laughed and enjoyed each other in the most beautiful and comfortable of homes. You feel relaxed the moment you walk through the door, not on pins because we had dogs with us. Homely, clean and welcoming. On top of that waiting for us in the beautiful kitchen were flowers, champagne, tea, coffe, sugar, milk and biscuits. I would without question go back and recommend Four Bays to all. A****

When we booked our main priority was hot tub were disappointed when we found out no longer available but pool more than made up for it, spent many hours in there fantastic and men loved games room attached to,property and also communal one shame weather not kinder so we could make more of all the outside space one of the best holiday accommodations we have booked and we've stayed in plenty

For people staying there my first advice is...... put the pub postcode in the sat nav then follow the directions from there. My parents spent hours driving round. The area is lovely and the pool is amazing! I would say the house is a little dated and could do with a little revamp. Some basic essentials were missing in the house - tin opener etc. When we went the hot tub was out of action which was a shame, but we made excellent use of the pool which is a tremendous asset to the property. I enjoyed my stay and loved the pool but I am unsure if I would stay again at the price (we received a reduction because of the hot tub) I still feel the price was on the high side.

A great property, with amazing facilities. We had the best weekend, secluded enough to be private but still with close local amenities if needed. A beautiful location and the standard of provision was very high.
