Set on a working arable and cattle farm, within the owner’s 2000-acre estate in the Vale of Strathmore, these three welcoming and spacious holiday properties have been restored to a very good standard. Islabank Farmhouse (ref SAAP) is a traditional, characterful, comfortable farmhouse which is ideal for families, Curlew Cottage (ref SYYJ) is a charming, beautifully converted, detached, single-storey property and Osprey Cottage (ref UZQ) is a delightful, light and sunny, single-storey detached cottage. Set amongst beautiful farmland and fruit-growing country, they make an excellent choice for relaxing breaks in the heart of rural Perthshire. The estate makes an ideal base for exploring central Scotland, Edinburgh, Perth, St. Andrews and the Highlands. Glamis Castle is a few miles away. Outdoor activities (golf, skiing, riding, cycling) are readily available. Shops and pub 3 miles.

    The house was very cosy and with a warm welcome from the landlady. It was very clean and comfortable. It has a big nice well equipped kitchen and also a cosy lifing room with wide view in the nature. The 3 sleeping rooms were realy comfortable and well equippeld, clean an with convenient large beds. It has 3 nice bathrooms. The big and well nursed garden was perfect for the children to play football. Small limitation was the continuos noise from the corndryer of the farm behind. But this was only 4 days and nights from 14 and is probably only in the time of crop in summer.

    We had a very enjoyable 11 nights at Islabank Farmhouse in July. The accommodation was ideal for our stay with family and friends. The kitchen was well equipped, there was lots of hot water and we enjoyed a log fire one cooler evening. The large mature garden was very secure for our cairn terrier - who spent some of her time chasing up and down the garden as tractors passed on the farm road! A good supply of holiday reading material -novels and local guides - is provided along with several lovely "welcome treats". The visitors book provided glowing reports from others of their stays - and repeat visits - at Islabank.

    We had a superb holiday staying at Islabank Farmhouse which we found clean, comfortable, spacious and well suited to accommodate 3 generations of our family. We loved the setting and enjoyed watching the livestock in the surrounding fields. The location was ideal for us, being straightforward to travel over the Tay Bridge to visit family in Fife, yet also easily accessible to places of interest in Dundee, Edinburgh and the Highlands. We are cottage owners ourselves and would be very happy to recommend Islabank Farmhouse to friends and family, and to stay there again ourselves in the future.

    Our visit was partly holiday, partly family business and this was the perfect house to come back to at the end of a busy day. Owners were helpful without being intrusive. We were warm and comfortable and found it easy to relax here. We thoroughly recommend it.
