Very clean and comfortable accomadation. Lovely welcome with homemade ginger cake (which was yummy) and continental breakfast. Bed was extremely comfortable and other furnishings of very good quality. Local pub is a short walk away and good for eating out. Excellent for visiting Newark Showground and other local amenities.

Stone Lodge is an exceptional cottage with lots of home comforts, attention to detail and a fantastic welcome pack. The location is perfect for exploring the area as it is very central to lots of places so there was plenty to keep our 3 and 6 year old boys entertained. Combine all this with such lovely owners and you would be lucky to stay here.

This is a lovely modern property but has lots of old features and character which we really liked. There are two bedrooms, a shower room, a lovely well equipped kitchen and a lounge/diner with a fire. There were scones and jam awaiting us on our arrival which was a lovely touch, as well as milk, juice and cereals etc. We took our dog and it was perfect for him as the floors were all stone in the living areas so we never felt worried that he was going to walk muddy paws everywhere. The owners were very friendly and recommended some nice walks as well as pubs to eat in. Would definitely visit again as it was very quiet and had a lovely little craft centre in the village which did the most amazing food and hot drinks. A nice weekend break but could easily stay longer!

Lovely cottage in a nice village but the photo extremely misleading as it does not show the fact that this is basically the owners' driveway and there is no privacy.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not find the layout ideally suitable for yourself and your young children. There is a substantial private picnic area and exclusive driveway for guests to use as clearly shown in the photos on the website. As you can see from other reviews, many of our guests have enjoyed the location and the very high standard of quality the property offers. We of course will continue to endeavour to give great service and value for money to our future guests.

Lovely cottage. Very clean & well equipped. The welcome pack (continental breakfast + loaf of local plum bread) was a nice touch. Location was great for exploring area. We found we could gets to lots of places using the A607, which goes through Fulbeck, rather than using the busier A15/A17. Caythorpe, approx. 1 mile, had a Spar shop and two pubs. The Red Lion was dog friendly, and did really great food. We walked across the fields but there were several styles, and no dog gates!! Our only disappointment was the sitting-out area/furniture, which was located at the side of the cottage. The area was also the visitor parking and very shaded; not somewhere we wanted to sit. A shame as the weather was lovely for April.

Superb cosy cottage with very caring owners. We left behind a few things that Danielle posted them on to us when we got home. David also went out of his way to retrieve a phone that I left I the pub (which does really good food and is very dog friendly). Danielle provided everything for a continental breakfast and the home made scones were delicious. We loved the way the cottage is decorated and will stay again.
