Great cottage very convenient for all of Lincolnshire. Wonderful stock of breakfast cereals/milk bread/scones/jam. Very helpful owners next door. Super pub just up the road.

Stone Lodge is a beautiful cottage. Very well equipped and clean. The owner gave us a very warm welcome and was friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. I have stayed in many cottages over the years and Stone Lodge is one of the best.

Stone Lodge is a lovely property in a lovely location. There were a few little things that were disappointing hence the score but it's the little things that can make a big difference. The welcome pack was great although the butter was out of date. The double quilt was horrendous, extremely lumpy and uncomfortable, we have never experienced such a quilt in any holiday home or hotel that we have ever stayed in. When the bed was made it looked as though there were several items hiding under the quilt! The microwave was disgusting and having to clean someone else's splashes of food and peas stuck to the roof and walls of the microwave I find unacceptable! Cleanliness wasn't a top priority as the light fittings were covered in cobwebs! The owners have two beautiful cats who were not allowed in the lodge, keeping them out was a full time job if on lovely sunny warm weather you had the doors open. I personally would have been happy to let them wander around the lodge but not everyone likes cats! On our last morning all the smoke alarms in the lodge decided to set off at 5am in the morning which not only frightened my children (particularly my 6 year old) we couldn't then get back to sleep! On a positive note, the shower was great, one of the best showers experienced in holiday accommodation and the addition of lovely clean towels were great! A lack in the attention to detail which spoils what could be a beautiful holiday home which didn't reflect the price! Let's hope the owners learn from this!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We were disappointed to see your score as we normally receive very high scores overall. Cleanliness is a very high focus for us and we set high standards which are reflected by the scores within other reviews. The microwave and one or two other items were clearly missed by our temporary cleaning company. I can assure you this will be addressed with them so this doesn’t happen in the future. If we were advised of this at the time of your stay we would have addressed this immediately for you. As regards to the quilt, if this was brought to our attention we would have been happy to replace immediately for you. Our housekeeper is now back with us and we will continue to achieve a high standard of cleanliness. We don’t understand why the smoke alarms went off, however these have been checked and no problems have occurred since - it may be that there was a power cut during the night which is out of our control, if there was any cause for concern this could have been addressed with us at the time and once again we would have been happy to help. We hope you return to Stone Lodge in the future.

The cottage was perfect for our needs in between house moves. The owners are lovely, helpful and make fabulous scones for you on arrival! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and can thoroughly recommend the property.

Great place to stay. Lovely and roomy. A lovely welcome pack from our hosts Danielle and David. We have been to many places that didn't have much kitchen equipment and we've had to buy items, but Dani and David have thought of everything. All you really need to bring are your toiletries and clothes.

Overall my wife and I were delighted with the cottage which is owned and operated by really nice and helpful people. The scoring for location is due entirely to the road system in Lincolnshire and not something the cottage owner can be responsible for. Travel for example to the north of Lincoln is not without its difficulties.

What a truly fantastic cottage. So well equipped, clean and appointed. The welcome pack was spot on. The robes and slippers were an unexpected luxury. We were made very welcome by Danielle and David. Thank you for pointing us in the right direction for walks. There are some great walks close by in beautiful picturesque settings. Although the owners home is adjacent the cottage retains its privacy too. We would highly recommend a stay here.

The cottage was very well equipped and the owners very pleasant. Though modern, the cottage did have a nice older feel and log fire was available. Outside had secure parking and space for eating etc. Very quiet hamlet with a well kept church and surrounding areas. Described as pet friendly/takes pets, but I do think the booking agent needs to make very clear to dog owners that in fact dogs have to be kept in a cage when unattended. This should be made clear upfront. The garden area is not secure dogwise (this we did know from the booking agent). Overall we had a great holiday and enjoyed the cottage, dog owners just need to be mindful of the restrictions.

This cottage inside is beautifully kept with outstanding fixtures and fittings. However, when we arrived we were extremely disheartened to see that the cottage was actually at the bottom of the owners steps to their house. The front garden was the owners 50ft driveway and the enclosed garden was not enclosed at all and was certainly not suitable for young children and a dog. We expected the garden to be enclosed so we could allow our dog to go out when necessary so he was not cooped up in the cottage. We could not do this and had to take him to the park everyday which was extremely muddy which meant he had to have a wash down and dry before being able to enter the cottage. Our children could not play outside because the driveway had 2-3 cars on it which were a few steps away from the front door. We were extremely disappointed with this cottage's location and surrounding garden.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We were disappointed to read your review as we normally receive very positive feedback from all of our guests as you can see below. Many of our guests have children or dogs and find the cottage and location extremely dog friendly as it has flag floors ideal for 'Muddy Paws'. The cottage is located in beautiful countryside perfect for dog walkers with many lovely public footpaths. Cottages 4 You state in their Terms and Conditions that "dogs are not allowed to be exercised off the lead in any cottage garden" or courtyard garden like at Stone Lodge. We thank you for recognising that Stone Lodge is beautifully equipped with outstanding fixtures and fittings. We shall continue to give our future guests high standards and lovely holiday experience.

A lovely cottage in a quite village. Great local pub ( book in advance ). Good location to visit the area or just to relax in the colder months in front of the fire. N.B - The property is on the drive right next to the owners house but we did not find this an issue. No real garden area ( apart from a picnic table with BBQ ) so in the summer may not suit some people. Overall we loved the cottage and had a great stay.
