Lovely cottage in a brilliant location, the cottage is very clean and homely. The bedrooms was a brilliant size and comfortable. The living room on the smaller side but still functional for a family of 4. The garden was massive the kids and dog loved it. Nice local pub everyone was friendly, the kids loved the horses at the bottom of the drive way. No passing traffic as we was down a private gated road. The kids loved all the wildlife in the garden from squirrels to pheasant. Cottage wasn't over looked it was a gorgeous retreat! We booked again for next year whilst we was there!

Well it depends what you want from your holiday. If you're expecting modern up to date facilities it's probably not for you. Perfectly adequate but not all mod cons. Beautifully quiet with good walks straight from the door. Good 4G reception but no WiFi. About a 30 min pleasent walk to the nearest pub, which has a lovely beer garden and does meals. Castleton 10 min drive with plenty to see and do. All in all a canny cottage.

The scenery is great. The cottage is spotless. However you can't check in until after four and the cottage had not been in use the week before our trip. The heating had been turned off and as it is storage heaters they take at least an over night to warm up. There was no coal, kindling what so ever. It was freezing. We contemplated going home but we're too tired and went to bed early. The nearest shop is not within walking distance, although the pub is. In the kitchen there is crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, but there are only two very small saucepans. The fact there are no photos of the small dining and living rooms speaks for itself! They are uncomfortable, depressing and dark. The bedrooms are ok and the beds clean and comfortable The garden is very pleasant but not secure as dogs can very easily go under the four bar entrance gate
