Overlooking one of Broadstairs’ sandy beaches, this is the perfect location to enjoy a family holiday by the seaside.

Opposite the beach with sea views

A perfect holiday home for groups of friends or an extended family, to enjoy the ambience of a village style seaside resort in either summer or winter. Broadstairs, named after the “broad stairs” carved in the cliff that led from the sands to the 12th century shrine of St Mary, boasts seven beaches, three of which are holders of the coveted 2010 Blue flag Award presented to Europe’s top coastal destinations. Ron’s House overlooks one such award winning beach - the quiet sandy “Stone Bay” offering 200 metres of golden sand, rock pools and a promenade. Broadstairs popular Folk Week Festival runs annually in August, and if you’re visiting Broadstairs with teenagers then Revolution Skate Park which operates out of Viking Bay is well worth a visit. There are also climbing and BMX sessions available. For walkers and cyclists alike, join the Thanet Coast Viking Trail – part of route 15 of the National Cycle Trail, and no trip to Broadstairs would be complete without a visit to a seafront ice cream parlour and watching the dazzling fireworks on a summer evening. Shop, pub and restaurant 1/4 mile.

Fabulous spacious house, with a lovely view from the balcony overlooking the sea. A previous criticism from others had been the shortage of bathroom facilities for 10 people. This has been perfectly addressed with the addition of a shower room/loo on the top floor. The games room, with table football and table tennis is perfect for kids of all ages, and the enclosed back garden is great, especially if you have a dog. Comfort-wise the beds felt a tad on the firm side, though once in bed personally I was not uncomfortable and slept well, as did all of our party except one, who was recovering from back surgery and needed a mattress with more give. Local shops, pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, and you'd have to sleep in a beach hut to be any closer to the beach. Highly recommend!

We were a party of 7 adults and 3 children and Ron's House was a fabulous stay. The house is welcoming and comfortable with glorious views right on the sea front. There is all you could need including a garden and games room. The house is spacious and practical. Wonderful for those who prefer a Victorian house to something modern.

We loved this house - booked for a family celebration for 3 nights in November. We suggest it was overpriced for a late November weekend. It would have been helpful to have had more information prior to our stay about what is provided. Although two of the bedrooms have ensuite showers, there is only one bathroom with a wash basin, not really adequate for 5 bedrooms. We loved the spacious sitting room and the kitchen diner, and the games room was a bonus. In the summer, the conservatory and garden would also be a bonus. The house is very well equipped and furniture and fittings of a high standard.

Spacious, comfortable house. Well equipped and large kitchen. Parking along the road difficult so appreciated space at the back of the property. The balcony with a drink and a book was a welcome retreat.

Fabulous location right above Stone Bay, which is a less busy beach (sand at the top and rock pools as the tide goes out) but within a few minutes walk of the sandy Viking Bay and the High Street with all its restaurants, shops and pubs. A major advantage is parking for 4 cars at the back of the house, as parking is difficult in Broadstairs. Lots of character in the house, a well-equipped modern kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, 3 with sea views, and a pretty, secluded garden. We were lucky to be there during the Water Gala and could watch the airshow from the front garden (about 4.30pm). The fireworks are now on the beach rather than at sea, so you need to cross the road to see them or walk down to Viking Bay beach. We had a marvellous family holiday in this large house. Thank you.

Fantastic location, close to the beach and town with more than adequate facilities. Helpful owner and caretaker who quickly resolve any issues that can arise with a house of this vintage. Our children and grandchildren love it's character and space.

Excellent location for both Stone & Viking beaches & for walking into Broadstairs. Quiet. Good 2 car parking provision at rear (trickier at front). Nice large house with good kitchen, conservatory, dining area, patio (good furniture) layout. Good rear garden for toddlers & sitting out / barbecue. As others have previously commented the lack of hand washbasins (one in main bathroom on first floor i.e. shared between 5 bedrooms & one in ground floor toilet) is a significant inconvenience with a large group. Despite this we had a lovely time (family - 6 adults, 3 small grandchildren) and would certainly revisit.
