Description

Overlooking one of Broadstairs’ sandy beaches, this is the perfect location to enjoy a family holiday by the seaside.

Opposite the beach with sea views

A perfect holiday home for groups of friends or an extended family, to enjoy the ambience of a village style seaside resort in either summer or winter. Broadstairs, named after the “broad stairs” carved in the cliff that led from the sands to the 12th century shrine of St Mary, boasts seven beaches, three of which are holders of the coveted 2010 Blue flag Award presented to Europe’s top coastal destinations. Ron’s House overlooks one such award winning beach - the quiet sandy “Stone Bay” offering 200 metres of golden sand, rock pools and a promenade. Broadstairs popular Folk Week Festival runs annually in August, and if you’re visiting Broadstairs with teenagers then Revolution Skate Park which operates out of Viking Bay is well worth a visit. There are also climbing and BMX sessions available. For walkers and cyclists alike, join the Thanet Coast Viking Trail – part of route 15 of the National Cycle Trail, and no trip to Broadstairs would be complete without a visit to a seafront ice cream parlour and watching the dazzling fireworks on a summer evening. Shop, pub and restaurant 1/4 mile.

Ron's House is ideally situated across the road from Stone Beach. I've been coming with my family, three generations of us, for a few years now. We all love it! The owners continually improve it and tell us that they have further plans. It's a comfortable place with room for all ages to play or relax in their own space, but also come together. Having a garden and space to park is a bonus. We cook in the well-equipped kitchen and eat round the enormous dining table. Our local contact is friendly and efficient, responding quickly to our requests. It's only a short walk to all the amenities we need. There are loads of restaurants, cafes, pubs and places to get day-to day essentials and its only a short drive to bigger shops if you feel the need. A great location for a group get-together of any age

Another very enjoyable week. Good that there is now a top floor shower room / basin/ loo etc. This house has proved ideal for 6 adults and three young children (1-3) despite suboptimal weather we had a great time. Garden an asset too.

Fabulous spacious house, with a lovely view from the balcony overlooking the sea. A previous criticism from others had been the shortage of bathroom facilities for 10 people. This has been perfectly addressed with the addition of a shower room/loo on the top floor. The games room, with table football and table tennis is perfect for kids of all ages, and the enclosed back garden is great, especially if you have a dog. Comfort-wise the beds felt a tad on the firm side, though once in bed personally I was not uncomfortable and slept well, as did all of our party except one, who was recovering from back surgery and needed a mattress with more give. Local shops, pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, and you'd have to sleep in a beach hut to be any closer to the beach. Highly recommend!

We were a party of 7 adults and 3 children and Ron's House was a fabulous stay. The house is welcoming and comfortable with glorious views right on the sea front. There is all you could need including a garden and games room. The house is spacious and practical. Wonderful for those who prefer a Victorian house to something modern.
