It has often been said that Rosecraddoc Manor must be the nearest thing to paradise. The manor properties stand in 38 acres of beautiful grounds and woodlands, set around a lovely lake, stocked with carp, roach and bream. Rosecraddoc Manor features a variety of properties surrounding the historic Manor House to cater for all tastes whether classic, modern, cosy or cottage style is what you are looking for. The manor was built in the 1820s on the site of a much older house mentioned in the Domesday Book. It is Grade II listed, along with two bridges in the grounds, and has now been converted into these attractive apartments and cottages, making a perfect base for your Cornish holiday.

On site you can fish in the lake (bring own fishing licence, barbless hooks and landing nets must be used, please) or play tennis on the all weather court (smooth soled tennis shoes to be worn, not squash shoes; please bring your own racquets and tennis balls). If you can bear to leave this beautiful spot, just 2½ miles away in Liskeard there is a superb leisure complex, where you can enjoy squash, badminton, gym, indoor bowls and indoor leisure pools, which include a children’s pool and flume, as well as the main pool.

Within 4 miles you can explore Bodmin Moor, where you can go riding, walking or even try water sports on Siblyback Lake - wind surfing, dinghy sailing and canoeing are available. To the south, lovely sandy beaches and pretty fishing harbours lie along the coast. Several excellent golf courses can also be found in the area; and the Eden Project is only 20 miles away.

The Manor and the Coach House have been tastefully and sympathetically restored to please the most discerning guest. The cottages are refs B6859, CV7102, CV7103, CV17, CV13 and CV44. Some of the cottages are suitable for guests with disabilities (CV44 is designed for the convenience of visitors with disabilities, as well as able-bodied visitors), and ref B6859 boasts an American fridge freezer. Access to the front door of the manor is by 3 stone steps. The apartments are refs CV14, CV20, CV11 and B4866 which are all on the first floor and ref CV12 is a ground floor apartment. Whichever you choose you will find it immaculately clean, with freshly laundered linen and tea towels. Please bring your own towels. Cot linen is not supplied. Cornwall is well known for its mild climate, but at Rosecraddoc Manor, even if it is cold outside, your accommodation will be warm and welcoming. Jacuzzi and spa baths are available in some properties (please check prior to booking). There are several pubs locally, and a leisurely stroll to the foot of the drive and across the road leads to a licensed bar and restaurant. The Village Inn, serving a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, and with an extensive menu including children’s meals. It also hosts a large TV screen, patio area, pool room with dart board and wide range of tourist information and leaflets, quiz nights and curry nights are held regularly during the high season. My family had an excellent two night stay in February, plenty of room and very cosy.

Very clean and clearly looked after well. It had optional wifi and when we arrived they had even put out mince pies for us. We were very warm as well for such a big house and how cold it was outside would defiantly come again. My only criticism is that the two master rooms have no doors to them you go upstairs and people are straight into your room. Overall very nice place to stay

    It needs an upgrade.

Overall very good, small suggestion, it would be more private if a screen could be provided in both bedrooms upstairs to give privacy when coming from the bathrooms. The management and staff were very helpful, when we had a problem with our granson, they couldn't have been more helpful. We all really enjoyed our stay at riverside and would definitely come again. The cottage was clean and comfortable in a lovely setting. However the cottage did feel in need of modernisation and more thorough checking/TLC - with the numerous dead lightbulbs, loose plug sockets, dodgy windows, loose toilet seats and toilet roll holders, etc. somewhat taking the shine off the place. None of these were worth contacting the owners about on their own - we were not prepared to interrupt our holiday trying to contact them or have repairs undertaken for trivial issues - but they should not have been there in the first place. The lack of doors to the two upper bedrooms was ridiculous and crippled the idea of staying here again for us a large family. If any one person in the house of 10 got up to use the kitchen or other living/dining room space it essentially woke the whole house. It robbed these rooms of any privacy. Our family is extremely close so we could not imagine how people less comfortable with one another would find this. We were surprised by the lack of contact from the owners. The balcony was out of action due to poor weather. Clearly this is not their fault. However, they told us on day one they had put tarpaulin on it to stop the leak to the conservatory below, again fine, and would return to see how we were. No subsequent contact was made again and so we were left with a dripping conservatory, that we just closed the door on and did not use, and a largely inaccessible balcony for the duration of our stay. We saw the owners on departure and this was not mentioned, and neither were we asked about our stay or wished a safe journey home. Maybe they were just preoccupied at the time, but for me this is common courtesy and the least that should be said to departing guests. We were surprised at the requirement to use black bin bags for the rubbish when no black bin bags were provided and the lack of toilet rolls on arrival.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Rosecraddoc Manor. It is disappointing to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us and that you decided not to contact our onsite managers or ourselves during your stay but instead chose to review it on the Reevoo system without giving us any opportunity to rectify your queries. We understand not wanting to disrupt your holiday but as the managers live onsite next to the property you occupied, it would have been easy to sort whilst you were out. They are contactable through the message system at the Reception area if you did not want to phone the numbers listed on the welcome letter or in the information folder. We are also contactable 24/7 and would have been only too happy to assist you. The weather that Cornwall has experienced in this early part of the year has been wet to say the least. We had a leak on the balcony roof which we thought we fixed and remedied. Unfortunately, more wet weather was here for your entire week stay with us and we had to temporarily fix the balcony with tarpaulin. We are sorry that it was out of action but given the weather, it was unlikely you would have been using it. As all of our properties are self-catering, we do start guests off with toilet rolls, washing up liquid and black bags. Additional bags would have been out underneath the sink in the kitchen and spare toilet rolls in the cupboard off from the lounge. Once these supplies are used, guests are required to purchase their own. We would like to point out that we did speak with one of your family members in advance of your arrival via Facebook and over the phone discussing the lay out of the property and how the house is split in detail. There are so many doors within the property closing off all the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, lounges, conservatories, kitchen and dining rooms limiting disturbances. There is plenty of space to escape throughout. The two upstairs bedrooms which are on opposite sides of the house are open plan with their own ensuite facilities. No other guests need to have access to these rooms. We would like to reassure any future guests coming to stay at Riverside Villa or Rosecraddoc Manor to take a look at feedback on different review portals, as well as Reevoo, and be assured that after selling this property for the last 4 years and it being occupied for over 50% of each year, that we had no complaints on this aspect and many guests regularly return.
