Description

Enjoy a peaceful holiday at this cottage, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside and plenty of walking opportunities.

Set in stunning surroundings with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside, River Cottage is a charming, self-catering, detached holiday cottage. Idyllically positioned for those seeking a tranquil and rural retreat, surrounded by magnificent scenery, close to the hamlet of Enochdhu in the heart of Perthshire. Once part of the Kindrogan Hunting Estate, the cottage is built on ‘policy ground’ and is renowned for its outstanding countryside, wildlife and dark sky location. There are an abundance of cycle and footpaths from the front door and The Cateran Trail is close by, as is Glenshee, Scotland’s largest ski area. After exploring the area, guests can relax on the terrace with a glass of wine and see deer drinking from the river, an abundance of bird life and red squirrels are frequent visitors. Kirkmichael is only 3 miles away and has a local shop, restaurants and pubs, Pitlochry is only 10 miles, Blairgowrie 15 miles and Perth 28 miles. Glenshee Ski Centre is just 20 miles away and pre-arranged private mountain guiding or skiing instructions can be arranged directly with the owner. Shop 3 miles.

Wonderful cottage in a fantastic location. There are some great walks right on the doorstep and some amazing wildlife too - especially the red squirrels that visited daily. Andy and Liz were great hosts and we would love to go back.

Lovely little cottage in a fantastic location. Plenty walks from your front door , has the country feel about it , but only 15 minutes to Pitlochry or Blairgowrie. Would definitely visit again

Private, tranquil setting. Plenty of wildlife and great walks. Cottage cosy and comfortable. It is set low, some overhanging trees so could be dark in winter months. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Appreciated goodies-especially plum jam!

We had a wonderful relaxing holiday in River Cottage. One of the best cottages we ever stayed in. We loved the squirrels. They came to eat every day. While we were sitting on the veranda they even approaced us up to 1 meter! There is a little village shop nearby in Kirkmichael, but we did most of our shopping in Pitlochry, which has all the shops you need. The distance from Enochdhu to Pitlochry took us about 20 minutes. But it was a very beautiful road through the mountains. The owners of the cottage Liz and Andrew were great hosts. We will definitely book again in the future.
