The property is showing signs of wear and bathrooms have traces of mould and have an odour. The windows were grubby and needed a good clean. There was a piece of dog poo on the courtyard gravel.

Lovely barn convertion, ideal for my young family, 4 yr old, 2 yr old & 3 month old plus our dog. Lovely big garden for everyone to enjoy & a luxury home. Various beaches 20/30 mins away plus lots of other attractions.

4th visit, already booked again for summer. Barn spotless and private, owners and the cleaners are very helpful. And ideal for dogs.

We enjoyed our stay although the barn is very large for two people. The under-floor heating was beginning to struggle as the nights got colder - probably a better venue for warmer days. We did not use the wood burner because of limited time.

Fantastic property with everything you need and more for a perfect holiday. There were 3 adults and 2 dogs in our party and everyone had a good time. We will definately be back.

It could do with more information on local facilities and shops

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, but there is a blue book provided with all information about the barn and the surrounding area ( including shops, restaurants, doctors' surgeries, hospitals etc). Also there are numerous drawers in our sideboard bursting with leaflets and information regarding the local area and beyond. Our guests, very kindly, leave information about places they have been to and sometimes even discover places that we haven't been to, which has proven most useful. Such a shame that you didn't discover this, but we hope you had a fantastic holiday as there are so many interesting places to explore in Norfolk.

This was our first visit to Partridge Barn , albeit we have stayed in another barn on the same site before. We like the area and find it centrally located for visiting Norfolk. Yes it is on a main road, but the barn is located that far back that traffic noise is minimal and other than the odd motorcyclist trying to beat the land speed record , you don't hear much and when you're in the back garden you may as well be in the middle of the country. The barn itself is nicely presented and well maintained with a modern yet rustic feel. Very early in our stay we suffered quite a frustrating problem with the property when we lost power. Without going into the whole boring story the local maintenance chap, Keith and the owner , Richard, were very helpful and we had the services of an electrician very quickly despite it being a Saturday evening. Unfortunately it was found to be an break inn the mains coming into the barn and had to be referred to UK Power Networks . Despite this a temporary fix was put in place and when we returned the next afternoon they had come out on a Sunday , had dug up the garden and laid and new cable. Now clearly there was no way the owner could have predicated this and it was obvipusly outside of his control, but we were still taken care off and both he and Keith were very helpful. I suspect they may have to renew their stocks of candles now though. We very much enjoyed our stay at the barn (When we had power!!!) and would return. The garden is large , and is great for the kids to run around in and is very private. There is a small track behind that leads to a couple of cottages but nothing that causes any disturbance. In fact we found it quite useful as my wife and I like to run and we could use this to get out to Old Wells Road, which is nice and quite rather than having to go out onto the main road and the front. There are a number of restaurants and bars locally that are very good. 2 are well within walking distance but again the main road would put me off doing that , especially with kids. Sculthorpe Mill would be ok on a summer evening . The Hourglass in Sculthorpe is also very good but I would drive. We also enjoyed The Crown and East Rudham , The Duck Inn , Stanhoe and for lovely fish and chips you cant go wrong with Drifters in Fakenham. If I was going to be really picky the only things we found that could be improved on are to provide a washing basket and a couple of dishwasher tablets for when you first arrive. As I say that's being really picky and would not in any way stop us from going back, and if it did then I would have to question my sanity.
