Description

Much Marcle is home to this former chapel, which enjoys a peaceful, rural and isolated setting, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye are both close by.

Offering spectacular views over rolling countryside to the Malvern Hills, this beautifully converted former chapel enjoys a peaceful, rural and isolated setting in delightfully named Much Marcle – boasting three village inns, a historic house and three cider makers including Westons! Adjoining the owners’ home, but not overlooked, it is set within their 2-acre grounds and enjoys shared use of their lovely garden. It is equidistant from the popular ‘black and white’ market town of Ledbury and the water sports of Ross-on-Wye (both 6 miles) and within easy reach of Eastnor Castle. An ideal holiday location to explore the many landscapes of beautiful Herefordshire, the Wye Valley and the historic remains of past conflicts in this Border country. Riding, golf, fishing and walks nearby. Shop 1 mile.

Spacious open-plan sitting/dining room with gas wood-burner and modern fitted kitchen area. Galleried double bedroom. Bathroom with toilet.

Very attractive open-plan layout, but not very private for 4 adults as upper bedroom is open on a mezzanine floor which you must go through to get to the bathroom. No dishwasher or washing machine. Parking for 3 cars at a pinch. Beautiful views from this hilltop position. Dark sky at night to see stars. Extraordinarily fast phone data signal from the nearby mast. Very quiet, surrounded by fields and country lanes. Helpful but non-obtrusive owner next door. Nearest grocery shop is at Much Marcle crossroads, about 2 miles away.

A very cosy cottage, with a very comfortable bed and very efficient heating. We found it well-equipped. Excellent location for exploring a wide area of Herefordshire, with Ledbury, the Malvern Hills, Hereford, the Wye Valley all within easy reach. Good pubs nearby and a convenient shop.

A lovely cottage which was well equipped and very clean. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, I was staying with a baby and the owner did a load of washing for me and dried it which was very much appreciated. My only observations would be that there should be 2 stair gates as it was a bit of a hassle having to continually move it from the top to the bottom of the stairs and vice versa. In addition some fluffier towels would be a nice addition as would a welcome treat, some of the other guests had noted cider was given but we didn't receive this. Overall I was very happy. Thank you.

The only issues we had was the lack of wardrobe space as both wardrobes had only half side availible and that both the kitchen & toilet blinds one could see through even when closed, especially from the point if you were sat on the toilet....

Overall a nice stopover for a couple, facilities require updating, lack of Hoover/dishwasher and washing machine makes life difficult. Good location and reasonably peaceful, Ledbury and Ross on Wye both reasonable commutes.

Had a lovely break at Orchard Cottage which has a lovely, cottagey feel - a real home from home!

Great location but disappointing that no views. Reasonably equipped, but little atmosphere. Shower in bath hard for a tall person. Very comfortable bed & nice garden.
