Description

The location of this cottage affords far-reaching views, with its own sitting-out area complete with garden furniture.

Just a one-mile walk from Flamborough’s magnificent lighthouse, these former agricultural barns, estimated to date back approximately 200 years, have been skillfully converted retaining many original features and exposed roof timbers. The location of these cottages affords far-reaching views, yet close to local amenities; each one has its own sitting-out area complete with garden furniture and with underfloor heating at ground level the holiday cottages remain cosy all year round. Built in 1860, the lighthouse stands guard atop the chalk cliff, as a silent sentinel, protecting shipping off Flamborough Head, and tours are available throughout the summer. The headland overlooks Selwick’s Bay, where visitors can stroll along the chalk paths descending to the sand and gravel beach with its fascinating rock pools. Flamborough Head Golf Course, 3/4 mile, offers a warm welcome for both golfers and diners in their clubhouse and another cliff top course can be found at Bridlington Links, 3 miles. The spectacular chalk cliffs to the north, with their panoramic views, are home to one of the largest nesting seabird colonies in England - RSPB Bempton. The quaint village of Flamborough itself is steeped in a history of piracy, shipwrecks and smuggling. The Heritage Coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey, and Scarborough are all easily accessible. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3/4 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and tiled floor. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

All properties: Gas central heating (underfloor heating on ground floor), electricity, gas, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Patio and furniture. Shared gardens. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

Lovely, clean cottage and when we went no one else staying in the adjoining cottages until our last placed for some super walks and if you love plants then Reighton Nursery is well worth a visit. Excellent haddock and chips from 149 chip shop on Marton Road in Bridlington. Owners very obliging and helpful and good communication throughout process of booking. Only downside for us is the lack of private, secure outside space. Our dog loves being outside which meant one of us always had to accompany her.

Very lovely, warm and well equiped cottage. Beds and bedding spotlessly clean as were the bathrooms. Thanks for the lovely bottle of wine - very much appreciated. We only had some very small complaints but overall very nice.

Gull Newk was a lovely dog friendly cottage, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again. We had many fun filled days all over Flamborough, Bridlington (especially the vets), Scarborough and Filey. The family run restaurant on the headland was absolutely brilliant.

This is a great cottage, very pleasant to stay in. It has everything you could need. Good location, you can walk to the lighthouse and coastal paths or its a short drive to several beaches. The pubs and shops at Flamborough are only a short drive away.
