Description

The location of this cottage affords far-reaching views, with its own sitting-out area complete with garden furniture.

Just a one-mile walk from Flamborough’s magnificent lighthouse, these former agricultural barns, estimated to date back approximately 200 years, have been skillfully converted retaining many original features and exposed roof timbers. The location of these cottages affords far-reaching views, yet close to local amenities; each one has its own sitting-out area complete with garden furniture and with underfloor heating at ground level the holiday cottages remain cosy all year round. Built in 1860, the lighthouse stands guard atop the chalk cliff, as a silent sentinel, protecting shipping off Flamborough Head, and tours are available throughout the summer. The headland overlooks Selwick’s Bay, where visitors can stroll along the chalk paths descending to the sand and gravel beach with its fascinating rock pools. Flamborough Head Golf Course, 3/4 mile, offers a warm welcome for both golfers and diners in their clubhouse and another cliff top course can be found at Bridlington Links, 3 miles. The spectacular chalk cliffs to the north, with their panoramic views, are home to one of the largest nesting seabird colonies in England - RSPB Bempton. The quaint village of Flamborough itself is steeped in a history of piracy, shipwrecks and smuggling. The Heritage Coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey, and Scarborough are all easily accessible. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3/4 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and tiled floor. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

All properties: Gas central heating (underfloor heating on ground floor), electricity, gas, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Patio and furniture. Shared gardens. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

Had a lovely holiday at Gull newk! The property is spotlessly clean....little extras that have been thought about for your comfort . Washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, loo rolls, lovely clean towels....a bottle of wine left as a welcome gift on your arrival. The beds are spotlessly clean and so comfy. The cottage is warm ....underfloor heating downstairs. So cosy if it's chilly out. We had lovely weather for our stay ...but it turned chilly at night. It was lovely and warm inside the cottage. The owners are friendly...and helpful . The property is one of the best we have EVER stayed in. There is ample parking and it's very quiet...although there are other property's at the location...you don't look out on to anyone. And your not overlooked by anyone either. The location is brilliant....a stones throw away from Bridlington....we had a run to Scarborough also which isn't far away. Some lovely walks from the door....you get to see the most amazing wildlife ..Deers....hares...pheasants. Many lovey birds ...a lot of frogs when we were there too??everywhere you go everyone is so warm and friendly . Very dog friendly .VERY..you can even take your dogs in most shops! Flam borough itself is smashing most of the pubs are dog friendly .There are two chip shops in the village and ..very good fish and chips would highly recommend .portions are huge! the fish is Devine soooo fresh! The ship inn pub is a lovely pub....extremely welcoming and friendly...definately recommend . Sewerby in a great day out. You can park at the ship pub car park..At sewerby ..for free. This is a great pub good food and dog friendly ....you can go to sewerby hall with its gorgeous gardens....animals ...the house itself is really worth a visit. You can also walk from sewerby into Bridlington....this is a lovely flat walk lovely views across the sea....lots of benches to sit and stop have a rest and take in the beautiful scenery . This is the most lovely part of the world and WELL worth a visit. We would MORE THAN highly recommend Gull newk as a place to stay. This is our second visit here. And we definately WILL return....our thanks go to Mr and Mrs firth the owners for providing such a lovely place to stay..THANKYOU! we can't wait to return again soon!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gull Newk. This is a beautifully presented and fantastically well equipped barn conversion with ample space for 4. It's setting in peaceful surroundings on the edge of sleepy Flamborough is perfect. The bright lights of Bridlington are only a few minutes away should you need shops etc, although there is a small supermarket, butcher, pharmacy, pubs and take aways in the village. The cottage is very spacious and we wanted for nothing. The owner was so kind as to leave a bottle of wine to welcome us. We will definitely be coming back and indeed have already booked to return next year. We would highly recommend this property for those wanting a relaxing hideaway for a few days.
