Within a few miles are a selection of beaches including Polzeath, the sailing resort of Rock and the dramatic scenery of Boscastle and Tintagel. Eden Project within a ¾ hour’s drive. Shop 1½ miles.

The cottage was lovely, and the location was stunning. But little things spoilt it and made us feel we were just part of the money machine. We paid a lot of money considering the time of year (I realise Cornwall is ridiculously expensive and poor value compared with Wales for example, which has equally stunning locations!!), and were not at all happy that there were signs of petty meanness. One dishwasher tablet. One toilet roll. One bin bag. A beautifully laid stove but no matches to light it and no kindling or paper to use the extra logs on the second night. FOR A WEEK!!!! I have used many self catering cottages and have never experienced this paltriness!!!It was enough to cause us to agree we would go elsewhere next time. There are many holiday cottages available. It's a competitive market. After all, what would these little extras have cost in comparison to the money they charge. I will say again however, the cottage itself was lovely and the location would take some beating. But so would many others in Cornwall.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of Meadwell. We were pleased to hear that you found the Cottage to be lovely and nicely situated - we very much appreciate your positive feedback and review rating. Our self-catering holiday Cottage offers clean and comfortable accommodation for guests who are also provided with the means to prepare and cook their own meals. Visitors are advised through the Agency website to consider bringing their own sugars, cooking oils and condiments. An initial supply of toilet rolls, bin liners, washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets are provided however, guests will need to bring anything else that they feel they will need for the duration of their stay.

We've stayed twice at Meadwell and will be back again - it's the perfect quiet, comfortable getaway with no fuss. Only complaint is that the mattress on the bed is very soft, but that's personal preference.

Clean, cosy cottage with lovely period features in a beautiful location. Cottage had everything you could need and we especially loved the wood burning stove. Would recommend highly to all. Thank you!

Meadwell is a lovely cottage in an idyllic location with amazing views. It was extremely comfortable, warm and well equipped and we would go back again in an instant (in fact will probably book it again later this year). We walked some of the most beautiful routes in the country, the mythical and factual history is fascinating and the food in nearby pub/restaurants was excellent (especially the nearby Mill House Inn).
