In a tranquil village setting, Little Roost is perfectly situated to explore north Pembrokeshire and is great for couples or families.

From the stunning coastal path, the splendour of St Davids and its cathedral to the rugged Preseli Mountains, this area has it all. Situated in Mathry with its village green, a dog friendly pub serving food all day, tea rooms and restaurant, Little Roost is a lovely, cosy base to return to. It’s also just a short drive or walk from Pembrokeshire’s north coast and beaches. Nearby, Porthgain Harbour is an almost undiscovered jewel of the county steeped in history and still used as a small, local, fishing harbour, and also has links to the famous gallery of artist John Knapp Fisher and the Preseli Mountains with its long walks and burial chambers. The north coast of Pembrokeshire is an ideal location for the perfect getaway, an untouched and historic part of Wales - one of the great walking destinations of the UK. Cottage was perfect for our needs. Quiet and away from it all with cows in the field and a lovely view of the sea from the double bedroom. Very clean and warm. Lovely little welcome package of local produce. The wi-fi in the cottage isnt very strong, which was a criteria for me as I have a diabetic child. We found it better at the Spar/garage a couple of miles up the road. I ordered a food shop to be delivered from Tesco's in Haverfordwest, which was fab. 2 fridges and a freezer to store your food. The stairs in the cottage are a little steep and my son caught his bare foot on an exposed nail. If I was to be very critical, the only thing to be really improved on would be to have cupboard staples like cooking oil, cling film, tin foil, there was salt but no pepper, kitchen towels. Plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cleaning products were provided. We were 6 in our group and could've done with more serving bowls for our meals, a biscuit tin and a bread bin.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Roost. It was good that the cottage was of a high standard because the weather was not good, and we were able to enjoy the comfort of our accommodation.

Lovely village on a hill a mile from the coast path. What a coast - the cliff walks are world class in sunshine. So much to see, good walking, lovely beaches. Preseli hills nearby.

Fabulous holiday, nice comfortable cottage with everything we needed and friendly welcome from the owner. Mathry was ideally located for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline and the local pub just down the road for a drink in the evening.
