Lavender Lea is certainly the best and most complete cottages we ever stayed at. We´ve been here the 2nd time and everything was again as we know it.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting. Didn't meet the owner but was very helpful on the phone and left a nice welcome gift of fresh flowers, honey and biscuits. Good location for exploring the local area. Shops and pubs in easy walking distance although the main A road is very busy.

As this was the 2nd week of our holiday, (the first week in a Farm Stay property in Kent) we could compare the two. The property is modern and has all you would want (except no washing up liquid) has a nice outlook of the Lavender, 3 TV,s and on-suite. We found a blown bulb and another blew mid week, so spare bulbs would have been handy (only had GU10's for the kitchen . Also maybe instruction manuals for appliances. would be handy. All other properties we have stayed at do. Comparing with the 3 other properties we have stayed at in the last year then everything felt new but maybe less lived in than others. The other places were older properties. Being asked to pay additional £10 for WIFI access seems to be rather penny pinching since the cost of rental of the property was £180 more than the previous weeks cottage which slept 6 in 3 bedrooms and WIFI included. It was actually nice not to be connected ! Bottom line would be recommend and visit again? Yes I think we would but maybe more out of season as the price for just 2 of us was more than we would normally pay.

Quiet, peaceful and central location. Sadly no key at cottage, had contacted owner the day before but no contact made. Upon arrival had to go to find the owner, a lady gave us a key and "hoped it was the right one". We never met the owner and no one came to ask if things were ok! or apologise! When on holiday we do like to be left to our own devices but a "welcome" does make all the difference.

We stayed in Lavender Lea for a week in which the weather was quite good. We loved the house, fully equipped, cosy and clean and the beautiful, peaceful location with its nature all around like the deer and all kinds of birds. Its location gives a lot of posibilities for exploring the region. We surely would recommend this place to everyone! We would love to come again!

Lady (Sandy) in the tea-room was very friendly & remembered us from a previous visit. On our last visit, the owners introduced themselves, but this time there was no contact at all.

Unfortunately our holiday was cut short owing to illness. However, we found the cottage to be very well appointed, clean and generally very comfortable. An excellent touring site for the New Forest; Salisbury and Wiltshire. It was really nice to see the Roe Deer feeding outside the cottage in the mornings. Our only quibble is that we chose to use the twin room and although the beds were comfortable they both squeaked noisily whenever one turned over - enough to wake you up.
