With 6 adults, 2 toddlers, 1 baby and a dog we needed the space that we had at the Last Barn. Once you got back on the main road it was pretty much central to all the amenities and wonderful days out that suited us all. Although we were cut off completely from mobile and internet service, which wasn't so bad as we were there to rest and relax, I do feel that a land line for emergency use would be a good idea.

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We have just been informed that 4G should be available at the property very soon as they are putting up a new aerial.

Some good features - the outdoor sitting areas and the kitchen/dining area which was very well stocked. We felt the cottage needed a good deep clean. Windows were dirty and settee covers grubby, maybe because we were near the end of the summer season? The bathrooms were in need of upgrading and the sitting room a bit dull. There were a few issues during our stay but the owners took them seriously, were very quick to respond and got them sorted. A proper inspection at the end of the previous rental should have picked them up. Maybe would be useful to make clear that despite being in a beautiful area, the cottage is down a long single track lane mainly flanked by high banks and hedges. Could be difficult for anybody who is a nervous driver! Also meant if you wanted to walk directly from the cottage it's only down this lane which is a big disincentive. That's why we've only scored 7 on location.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments, We are in the process of replacing the fabric sofas with luxury aniline leather sofas and we are upgrading the shower room. The windows are cleaned regularly but unfortunately, being a coastal property, this doesn't last long. We are glad that the new email address for reporting minor issues worked well so that we could get the light bulbs changed. Personally, we love the fact that, as with many properties in rural Pembrokeshire, the Last Barn is located down a private lane away from busy roads and the rat race.

My only slight moan is the games room I would not call it a games room its a garage/ barn with some equipment in a bit disappointing when you see it. But that does not distract from the fabulous cottage.

This was our 5th visit and first with the new owner. We much prefer the wooden bench table to the new plastic one. We no longer get logs or even a starter basket. We do need a step for little ones to wash their hands in both bathrooms please; we took our own. The lawn needed a cut but the new area opened up again looked lovely. But we had no problem with the cooker as others have said. A fault with the boiler was very swiftly attended to by the agents who were very helpful.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for returning to Last Barn and for already booking for next year! We will ensure that there are steps for the children in each bathroom for your next visit. In addition to the garden renovations, we hope you also noticed all the other improvements we have been making throughout the property to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible. You should have had a basic welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, sugar and welsh cakes to help start off your stay. The wooden table has been moved to the front garden and an extendable metal one more suited to dining is on the patio. The gremlins in the cooker were repaired before your stay. We are glad you were pleased at how swiftly the boiler issue was dealt with. As it turned out, the boiler was working fine but the heating didn't come on as the room thermostat in the lounge didn't click in as it was too warm being July.
