Being at the heart of Shropshire, these beautiful holiday properties are set in the perfect location for a country retreat, and they enjoy wonderful views of Chelmarsh Reservoir. The Rookery (ref RGGQ) is an exceptional property designed specifically for holiday breaks, with its well-planned rooms and beautiful open views. All bedrooms are en-suite, and there is a large dining area and living room, as well as a separate gaming room to entertain. Kingfisher Cottage (ref RNN3) occupies an outstanding position overlooking the Severn Valley. The large family kitchen with glazed dining area overlooks the garden and outside patio area, whilst the spacious comfortable living room offers a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in. The property has the added benefit of a ground floor en-suite bedroom, as well as five further en-suite bedrooms on the first floor. The gardens and barbecue area provide wonderful waterside views. They are very much geared for family groups and celebratory gatherings. Surrounded by the owners’ farmland, with footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes from the doorstep, these properties are the perfect country retreat. Another popular pastime in the area is fishing, which is available for guests of the cottages on Chelmarsh Reservoir and also on the River Severn (day permits can be purchased from local fishing tackle shops). Ideally located near to the historic town of Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley railway, with RAF Cosford a short drive away, the cottages make an ideal base for touring. The Ironbridge Gorge Museum and the hills of the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge are about 10 miles away, whilst there are many interesting walks from the door as well as numerous picturesque villages waiting to be explored. Further afield a great place for a day trip is the West Midlands Safari Park. Shops 3 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

    Excellent cottage, well placed for visiting attractions in the area, cottage well equipped with everything one could possibly need. Karen the owner made us a beautiful chocolate cake as a welcome gift, highly recommended accommodation.

    Kingfisher cottage is a great house in good location. It was clean and well equipped. It's great that each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The open plan tiled ground floor was great for the grandchildren with their Heelies and Didicar and just generally running about. The garden was good too. Two downsides: It is very noisy. The upstairs floor creak really badly and this is particularly bad for the occupants of the ground floor bedroom. There is building work going on - there is a huge house just being completed right next to the house. This looks great by the way and has the lovely view to the lake which Kingfisher would have had, but leaves Kingfisher a little overlooked and hemmed in.

    We loved this property. Fab views and very spacious and well kept. Close to Bridgenorth which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants.

    Karen was a great host, and nothing was too much trouble. We also had the opportunity to view the new property they're building which was fabulous. Looking forward to a return trip in the not too distant future.

    Great place, spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses, just missing a corkscrew! Disappointed not to have been informed about the building work, only knew about it from other people's reviews. However, it did not disturb us but does impact the garden being classed as enclosed due to it only being a temporary flimsy fence. Friendly owners and wonderful home baked cake on arrival.

    Great property for a group with bathrooms for all rooms. Well equipped in general but short on crockery (quantities perhaps not checked on handover) so short on mugs and bowls nice touches like shower gel and body lotion for all. Good pans and other kitchen paraphanalia

    A well enjoyed short break , very nice holiday home , could be improved by a small T V in bedrooms , as were all couples , and some times wanted to see our own things , but that was not that important . Great location , plenty to see and explore . Easy place to keep clean , tile floors down stairs, and lovely boarded floor up stairs. Good value for money , with the rebate , for inconvenience of the work force , building next door . Who where very polite and quite . we would recommend to anybody .

    We had a lovely weekend in a great house and location. Owners couldn't have been more helpful. The reason I gave only a 9 for equipment, was as there wasn't a central light in the lounge, it was difficult to read. Perhaps some reading lamps would be helpful, or we may need to go to 'spec savers'! Will definitely return.

    I was so pleased we managed to keep everyone happy with our chosen holiday home this time, no grumbles at all from 5 couples/families. All ensuite bedrooms then with the open plan kitchen, dining room, lounge and garden access made such a huge difference. Would recommend this place to everyone. We will definitely be going back as we have set the bench mark now and I know it will be tough to match elsewhere. Owners are super friendly and the kids loved the space and the animals. Slightly more than our usual budget but so worth the extra! Only very small issue was the creaky floorboards upstairs, maybe some carpet runners could fix that though. Thank you

    This was our third stay so that should give an indication of our view. The fact that all bedrooms were en suite was a major plus.
