Ivy Cottage is great for walkers as it is situated in the village of Chedworth where there are many footpaths to enjoy.

This charming 19th century, stone-built cottage, with oak beams and inglenook fireplace, has been sensitively restored to a very good standard, and is perfectly situated in the heart of the Cotswolds for exploring this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Upon arrival you will receive a welcome pack which includes a complimentary bottle of white wine. Set in a pastoral valley, Chedworth is a picturesque village, where you may see alpacas in the surrounding fields and gamboling lambs in spring. Unspoilt by tourism, it has many public footpaths in and around it, and lays claim to being the longest village in England. Nearby is Chedworth Roman Villa, and at just 15 minutes’ drive is the Roman town of Cirencester (Corinium), with its amphitheatre and museum, which has two superb mosaics. The beautiful market towns of Winchcombe, Stow-on-the Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden are all an easy drive away, and for a day trip, why not visit the Roman spa town of Bath; Cheltenham and its racecourse; Oxford’s dreaming spires; Stroud and its artists; Tetbury with its antique shops and ancient covered market; Malmesbury and its abbey, (the burial site of Athelstan, the first king of all England); and Bristol with its historic docks? Seven golf courses and seven riding stables all within 25 minutes. Farm shop 5 minutes by car. Shops 8 miles, 17th century pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and tiled floors. First floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, bidet and toilet.

Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freesat HD TV/DVD (BT sport package). Gas range. Electric oven. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). Cycle store. Welcome pack. No smoking. NB: 7 steps in garden.

Perfect for a quiet break or as a base to explore the Cotswolds. Comfy and cosy with a local pub 100yds away serving good food most evenings, local farm shop which doubles as a café selling an excellent breakfast.

We stayed at Ivy Cottage (two weeks) while our home was being fixed up from flood damage. So we are locals. However if we were holiday folks, we would have been very happy with what Ivy Cottage offers in respect of a get-away cottage and as a place to explore the Cotswolds Ivy Cottage is beautifully equipped and set up for easy maintenance. The kitchen is wonderful and comes with those useful things such as spices, salt & pepper etc. There is firewood supplied for those lovely wood burner evenings and a great big bath for a very relaxing read in the bath. Next door is the local pub. If you love birdsong, the local blackbird gives it "welly" all day and into the night Truly a lovely place to be

Perfect for us......close to our favourite walks in a friendly village. One down side being very, very slow hot water tap over the bath. Lovely to find items in the kitchen as added extras.....and a delightful secluded small garden to enjoy a sunny afternoon.

I had a wonderful break at this cottage which is quiet, comfortable and a delight to be in. I really enjoyed the local footpaths and recommend walking to the Roman villa, which was a beautiful walk and well worth the visit. The pub does a good meal and there is a local farm shop which stocks most things. Cirencester is a beautiful town to visit and there are some wonderful little villages to discover all around. The only problem I had was that it was difficult to find as the instructions are not the clearest. The cottage is actually opposite Corner Cottage which has a bright red post box set in its wall directly opposite Ivy Cottage's drive - a much better signpost to look for than the one given. My only other question is why Ivy cottage when its covered with Wisteria?

Perfect for a quiet weeks walking and exploring the Cotswolds. Parking space was a bit tight for a large car. Lovely village with a good friendly pub serving real ales and good food. Will definitely go back sometime.
