Apart from the weather travelling up, we had a very relaxing stay, dogs enjoying the comfort of the wood burner, likewise us, as nights were getting chilly. Location was ideal for those of you who like isolation, however don't be looking for a supermarket on your doorstep. Tomintoul has a village store/post office, but it ain't a superstore.. Research your route before travelling, as sat nav will take you out of your way and some of these roads in Morayshire are unforgiving when dry, so beware. All in all the accommodation was good, hame frae hame, grannies heeland hame, with 95% of your needs catered for. Beware the property is on a main road and Sunday is a bit heavy with the traffic heading up the Lecht, otherwise reasonably quiet local traffic. Keep your dogs on a lead at all times though. Garden is secure but has walls which some dogs may have a tendency to climb if inclined.

An extremely well equipped comfortable and homely cottage with beautiful surrounding views. It didn't have any phone or internet signal, which was not an issue for us however may be a problem for others. A drive is required to get anywhere locally, again not an issue for us but possibly others. When we arrived there was a whole array of information and brochures which we utilised to plan our stay. We used the wood burner every night which was extremely homely and cosy. The cottage was clean and tidy on our arrival and had everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Excellent value for money and a great base for exploring the wonders of the highlands.

Mold in all rooms, no Phone or Internet in Emergrncy's

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; There wasn't mold in all rooms but there were traces in two rooms which occasionally happens due to the age of the property. There are instructions within the cottage explaining that you can get phone signal within walking distance. The property doesn't have internet or phone signal as it is in a remote location. We receive many compliments in respect of this describing it as the ultimate rest and respite from the modern life.

We had a great time, the cottage was lovely in a beautiful location, the only problem was the shower (the noise and sputtering) which from previous comments seems to have been this way for a while. Perfect apart from that!

Very peaceful location with beautiful views. The cottage is lovely and clean with a cosy log burner. There is no internet or phone signal though!
