we appreciated the very friendly but unobtrusive owners adjacent to the Lodge who welcomed us on arrival. Was a nice feeling to know that if there were any problems they were right next door. The personal touches in the lodge were greatly appreciated - DVDs, books, extra coffee, tea bags, cereals, soaps, etc and a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival - made the stay more like a hotel welcome which was a lovely surprise to self catering and made us feel immediately at home and welcome!. I loved having the opportunity to play the upright piano -a real bonus to the holiday. The bed was extremely comfortable and the manual recliner chairs to relax in through the evening. the whole holiday was condusive to rest and relaxation in a peaceful but, beautiful setting and was a wonderful base, like "home from home" to enjoy the delights of the new forest and dorset. We would love to return one day to enjoy it all again!!

A charming little cottage, in lovely surroundings. very well equipped although not much space to actually put things or prepare food in the kitchen. The property is semi detached and we were quite surprised by how much sound carried from next door. Would still recommend as a good base if you want to explore the surrounding areas

We stayed here for one week commencing 19th August. Sam and Nick are absolutely lovely. The annex of the cottage in which we stayed is perfect with nice decking overlooking a lovely garden. We didn't attempt the two mile Journey each way to the local pubs as we felt the road with no pavement was too dangerous to walk back in the dark, especially if a little tipsy. Overall, a lovely stay and hope to return sometime soon. Will definitely recommend to friends.

We had a lovely relaxing break at Heathfield Lodge. The cottage is small (particularly the kitchen area and bathroom), but had everything we needed. We spent most of our time in the garden - eating out on the deck and relaxing on sun loungers on the grass. The only downside is that the gate opens directly onto the road - there's no pavement - and you have to walk a little way along the road to get to your car.

We loved our stay in the cottage . It was so cosy and the location could not be better , overlooking open fields with forest nearby . Sam was a great host , cottage was spotless and she provided breakfast essentials which was a nice surprise . Would definetely recommend staying here and we hope to be back when the weather is nicer so that we can enjoy the cottage garden in all it's glory .
