An exceptionally pretty fisherman’s cottage which appeared as Doc Martins house in the TV production, is tucked down quaint Squeeze Belly Alley, just 50 yards from the seafront.

This is an exceptionally pretty fisherman’s cottage that appeared as Doc Martin’s house in the TV production, tucked down quaint Squeeze Belly Alley and just 50 yards from the seafront. This cosy, delightful terraced cottage with an Aga, open fire and flagstone floors, lies in the heart of historic picturesque Port Isaac. The open-plan, downstairs living area, with its original floors and open fire, has been fitted and furnished to a very good standard making the most of the space. Set just 50 yards from the sea, the property is close to a variety of outstanding pubs and restaurants, including two restaurants owned by TV chef Nathan Outlaw: ’Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen’, the 14th-century building housing Nathan’s one Michelin star eatery, and ’Restaurant Nathan Outlaw’, which has been awarded two Michelin stars, are both a stone’s throw from the cottage.

Haven Cottage is the perfect spot from which to set off on the stunning coastal footpath. Port Isaac is a hidden Cornish gem, famous as the idyllic setting for ITV’s comedy ’Doc Martin’, with Haven Cottage having a starring role in the seventh series. The village is home to the famous acapella singers, the ’Fisherman’s Friends’, who perform live in the harbour on Friday evenings in the summer season. There is no parking in the centre of this ancient village, however cars can easily be parked 500 yards away in the village long-term car park.

Close by are the sandy beaches and restaurants at Rock and Polzeath, ideal for surfing, and along the coast is the fishing town of Padstow, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurants. Up the coast from Port Isaac are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Tintagel, the mystical home of King Arthur. Travel a little inland to find Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, and the Eden Project, both well worth a visit. Other attractions include the many beautiful gardens of the south coast and the fishing villages of Fowey, Mevagissey and Looe. Shop 500 yards away, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

We love Port Isaac, we booked Haven Cottage as have stayed at hotels previously. It is absolutely beautiful, like stepping back in time, with all the comforts of home. Right next to squeezy Belly ally and yards from the pub. Would we stay at Haven Cottage again? Yes we definitely will. Xxx

Delightful cottage, althought as it was mentioned in the Dr Martin series, we did experience constane knocking at the door , followed by laughing . maybe a sign saying its a holiday cottage, but a lovely weekend.

A lovely cottage, however it’s not ideal outside of summer time. The cottage given it’s very Old can get extremely cold. Even though you have a fire on. No parking given it’s the village, Which is acceptable, but it’s difficult to be allowed to double park to drop off your bags. Overall, a lovely place so I’d give my total score as a 8/10

As it is part of the 'Doc Martin' tour, there are regular groups outside trying to peer in while the tour organiser gives a commentary. Despite regularly trying (and leaving messages), we were unable to get hold of the local property manager when the washing machine failed to work, the result was many wasted days of telephone calls. The situation was eventually resolved quickly thanks to the booking agency and the property owner. The stairs are a little dangerous due to their steepness and the position of the bedroom door at the top. There is a possiblility of exiting the main bedroom and falling down the strairs if not careful. Not recommended for very young children or those not sure on their feet. Signs of damp on the landing and on the kitchen wall and the sofa is dirty. Other than these points, the appliances as a whole are excellent, with a lovely Aga and combination oven. There is a large selection of books and dvd's for those rainy days or quite nights by the open fire.

Everything was lovely! The gulls were quite noisy. But I guess that comes with the perfect location!

We stayed at the cottage from the monday to the friday for our anniversary and could not fault the cottage or the location one bit. It is the perfect location to go for a chilled out week and we will 100% be going again. Gorgeous cottage in a stunning location with the friendliest locals who were so welcoming. The only downside to the holiday was having to leave and come home. Highly recommend The Slipway as their food was delicious.

Great holiday in Port Isaac, wonderful Cornish village. Plus side living in Doc Martins cottage was feeling closer to him but daily visitors intrusive! The cottage is delightful, nicely stocked and lovely open fire. Need to replace double bed as this caused lower backache for both of us which was not good. Need to check pots and pans after previous visitors leave as one pan at bottom not washed. One of towels had a big brown mark on it which felt unclean!Firealarm kept beeping checked to see if could change battery noted that had not been checked since 2015 and non replaceable battery!

Haven cottage is delightful and charming. It is exceptionally well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location just a stones throw from the harbour is excellent but don't bring too much luggage as it's quite a walk from the car park, although there is a taxi shuttle bus should you require it. We loved the cottage and Port Isaac and will definitely stay again.

We loved the Haven and would definitely stay here again. The bakery that serves delicious, pasties, bread and cream teas was literally 30's away at the end of the path and the pub right across from there. Very peaceful and quiet, the beds where amazingly comfortable, our daughter loved being able to see the seagulls from her bedroom window. Kitchen perfectly equipped, we loved the aga. Also plenty of books to read or DVDs for a quiet day in. The little harbour was less then a minutes walks, our 2 yr old loves chasing the waves, rock pooling looking for crabs and collecting rocks. Highly recommend.
