This comfortable, semi-detached holiday home is close to the harbour and shops of the friendly port of Amble. The town has a good selection of eateries, with an award-winning ice cream shop on the harbour, where boat trips to Coquet Island can be taken. The property is a short drive from Warkworth, with its hillside castle, river walks and pubs, with Alnmouth only a little further, with its picture postcard estuary. Alnwick with its famous castle and gardens is 9 miles. Seahouses, Bamburgh, Craster and Beadnell are approximately 30 minutes away. Newcastle is 50 minutes. An ideal base for exploring this unspoilt county, peppered with friendly villages and castles. Beach 200 yards. Shop 20 yards, pub 100 yards, restaurant 70 yards.

    Nothing to fault.Was an ideal location for us with the dog, and for seeing the surrounding area. House very well equipped and comfortable.Would recommend and return.

    My family came over from the U S A ...first time for my son in law and grandchildren in UK. They were charmed by the pretty house..perfect for a family. Spotless and in a picturesque location. The host could not do enough for us and I would like to thank her on behalf of us all. Great value for money too..would absolutely recommend this cottage for a stay.

    Basic terrace house, furniture comfy, but did not feel like a holiday let. Amble does not welcome dogs on their beach. Very good fresh fish diners nearby in Market place. Nearby beaches are lovely and dog friendly.

I do regret to read that we have not met all your expectations and I will look into your concerns regarding Harbour House. Amble Short Sands beach as you state does not allow dogs, but this is only between May - September this is to encourage family use, however the main beach in Amble is dog friendly all year round. For the benefit of future potential guests reading your review, I feel I should point out that Harbour House is a semi detached house and not a basic terraced house.     Everything you need for a family holiday. The location was close to the harbour and shops the only downside was the parking at the front of the property but not a problem if you have only one car. Our visit was over the August Bank Holiday which was also Harbour Day with more visitors than normal. The welcome pack was a nice touch.

    Fabulous little cottage, literally a couple of hundred meters from the harbour. Warm, clean & very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable & the instructions for t.v., heating & kitchen appliances were very easy to follow! Very useful having the parking space at the rear of the property, as parking on the front was sometimes difficult. Lovely bistro on the harbour front, new little 'pods' for little shops down on the front & plenty of local doorstep fish & chip shops. Co-op literally two doors down & paper shop across the road. Perfect. We will be back.

    Really great holiday house, clean, comfy and well equipped. Just 2 min walk from harbour, great access to the other villages; nice cycling routes. House also has a private parking on the back and space to store bikes. Owners prepared great information pack about area and also places with dog access, therefore good place to stay also with your pupil. Definitely place to come back.
