Superb, barn that can accommodate larger parties in true comfort, spacious living rooms and generous en-suite bedrooms, nearly 500 listed buildings nearby.

This superb, detached barn conversion is one of those uniquely rare properties that can accommodate the larger of family parties in true comfort and style! Its spacious living rooms, generous en-suite bedrooms (some of which suit partially handicapped guests), and wealth of extra facilities will delight guests, and the property retains many character beams, with fine joinery and decor. There are separate stairs to 2 ’wings’, so plenty of room to spread out. An ideal base for a year-round holiday, with fine walks to Stokesay Castle, a short drive to Wenlock Edge and Long Mynd, and about half an hour from Ironbridge museums. Offa’s Dyke and Clun are nearby. The village of Craven Arms has some charming and historic houses, including a round house, thought to be a recognisable rest house for pilgrim’s travelling between Wigmore and Shrewsbury Abbeys. Knighton, Bishops Castle, medieval Ludlow, home to nearly 500 listed buildings are within easy reach. There is half a mile of coarse fishing within walking distance. Shops, pubs and restaurants ¾ mile.

This cottage is great for a family reunion. We all enjoyed our stay and would use it again for the same purpose. The furniture was rather tired but comfortable. Wi-fi would have been useful.

Well equipped but all furniture rather tired but clean and comfortable. Beds (mattresses) and pillows very variable and probably should all be renewed as some of the beds were very lumpy. Double beds were also smallest size obtainable and would be better at least queen size. Very quiet location but still close to shops and amenities. Kitchen was well equipped with two cookers, three fridges (one for drink) and large pots and pans to suit the numbers that the property can hold.

Good place, near to shops, pubs & walks but out in the country side.

we had a fantastic weekend here the house was great a perfect size, the decor is a bit dated but didn't make any difference to the experience, the only thing could have benefitted from is an out side table. We did find a table in the barn and carried it over to the house, but not sure this was its intended use. The owner did keep driving past and did pop in a couple of times. Overall fantastic weekend

Despite having no heating all weekend (boiler broken!) we had a lovely weekend. Cottage comfortably fitted an extended family and children loved the space. Plenty of fridges, freezers, big cooker enough room in kitchen for 6 children to eat and dining room big enough for at least 14 to eat dinner. Watch out for dog poo on lawn!

Halford Big Barn makes no claims to be the last word in luxury but it does have everything we wanted and the children were free to run about and explore the extensive property. The furniture is mixed, to say the least but it does the job and the beds and seats were comfortable. We were able to have a noisy room for the children and a sane room for the adults, with the opportunity for us all (15 of us) to sit around the same table at meal times. We were warm and wanted for nothing. We will certainly plan to go again, which is the best recommendation.
