This was our third visit to Grosvenor cottage and it now feels like home from home. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, the owners have put a lot of thought in to the decor and soft furnishings. Grosvenor cottage is in a fantastic location. Alnmouth beach is only a short walk away, perfect for dog walking! The Red Lion pub is also very close by, we can highly recommend the food and the beer! Dogs are also welcome in most of the pubs and cafes in Alnmouth.

We had a delightful holiday, in a lovely location. We were made very welcome by everyone we met in the village, and learned how popular our host and hostess are! Thank you for a great break!

Fabulous, quirky little cottage in a great location. Really well equipped. We kept finding new things throughout the week. Yes the floors slope a bit but that just adds to the charm! We always managed to park at the end of the street, even in July. We will be back

Nice cottage but would choose somewhere larger if stopping longer than a weekend. The shower is akward if washing your hair, and the kitchen very small. But great location.

Super cottage, well equipped. Nice touches left for us as next guest - chocs and wine

Fab little cottage. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, but that's true of the whole village! The cottage could have done with a full length mirror, but other than that it's pretty perfect

Lovely little cottage in the middle of this beautiful village so close to the beach. Great touch that the owner left wine to welcome us and phoned to check everything was ok. Well furnished. Comfortable. Had a great time and would definitely go again - we've still got eating places to try - ran out of time!

Nice cottage but there were a few problems which mean we will not book this particular cottage again. We thought the downstairs was very nice and liked the fire and magazines. The equipment in the kitchen was useful and of good quality. We found the drunkenness of the cottage quite difficult as the sofa and the bed were on a slope which did not engender comfort for long. There was no hot water in the kitchen and the shower in the bathroom leaked down the wall in the hall, this seems to be due to the tiling needing repair. The spa bath did not work.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; We were very sorry to hear of your problems during your stay at Grosvenor Cottage. We have all contact numbers in the cottage if guests need any assistance and would have attended to things immediately had we been contacted. The shower leak has been rectified now. We were not aware of any hot water problems and no other guests have raised this, we have checked this out and is working fine now. Grosvenor is a cosy, well-furnished characterful coastal cottage which all guests have enjoyed in the 3 years since we have been lucky enough to own it. The spa bath works perfectly but needs to be switched on at the wall socket on the landing; we have now labelled which to make it clear for all. We appreciate all feedback and occasionally, like any homes we have repairs to attend to, and do so as soon as we are aware of any concerns and to ensure all guests have a wonderful time, really sorry this impacted on your stay.

No WiFi, No phone signal, and the parking can be an issue. The cottage needs a little more attention to details, cracks in the walls, stains on the ceiling, mismatched cups and glasses, sounds a bit petty but these details take it from good to great. Excellent location.

The cottage was cosy, clean, comfortable and was ideally placed for our visit to Northumberland. There were some lovely pubs, restaurants within walking distance and the walks around Alnmouth were amazing. A short drive took us to Seahouses where we then went to the Farne Isalands. This was a brilliant experience. Visits to the Holy Island and many of the castles on the coastline made this a memorable holiday which we will hopefully repeat at some time in the future. The visits to all of these locations were made more pleasant knowing we were returning to a lovely base - the immaculate cottage!
