Set amidst beautiful countryside in the heart of the Cotswolds, these delightful cottages offer the opportunity for a romantic break, peaceful getaway or exploring this area’s villages and attractions

Set amidst beautiful countryside in the heart of the Cotswolds, these delightful cottages offer the opportunity for a romantic break, peaceful getaway or exploring this area’s villages and attractions. Converted from traditional honey coloured stone farm buildings, and retaining original features in their well appointed interiors, they are set around a courtyard adjacent to the owners’ home on a working farm. Home Farm’s location in a picturesque village is ideal for walking, cycling and touring, the local pub serving food is a short stroll from the cottages and just 2.5 miles away Chipping Campden, one of the Cotswolds’ loveliest small towns, offers interesting shops and a wide choice of restaurants. Broadway (6 miles) is home to unique shops, designer boutiques and superb art galleries as well as a tower offering one of England’s finest viewpoints with 13 English counties to be seen on a clear day. Hidcote (NT) and its impressive gardens are only 2 miles and Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon are all easily accessible.

Ramp or 3 steps to entrance. All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with toilet. Wet room (no toilet).

Spent a very comfortable couple of weeks here. Cottage had everything we needed. As a wheelchair user, I took my blow up bath seat so had no problems but I would have found the wet room difficult and would appreciate the addition of a couple of handrails close to the shower and perhaps a seat. Slightly disappointed not to have a view but most guests would be out every day so again not really a problem. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and warm and the owners very friendly.

    1. The cooker didn't work properly. 2. Two clocks didn't work. 3. Even after discussion with owner, we couldn't work the central heating. 4. No cleaning materials avail (took my own), only 1 toilet roll provided, no bin bags avail and some crockery chipped. 5. The tiles in bathroom were slippery when wet , causing probs for me (disabled)and the water didn't drain. 6. The shower wasn't very warm and we were so cold ( no UPVC windows or doors ), we had to use the electric fire every day. 8. There was no dish drainer on the kitchen sink, making it difficult to rest wet dishes, without them sliding into the basin. 9. The square shaped T.V. was tiny and the remote control was faulty. 10. The microwave oven was completely outdated. Despite this, the owners were polite and friendly.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were surprised to read your feedback regarding some aspects of your stay at Gilberts and we would like to take the time to address the comments you have made. All the instruction books for the cooker, microwave, dishwasher etc. are in a drawer in the kitchen, should our guests need them. The microwave is 2 years old. The battery in the kitchen clock has been changed. The heating controls were clearly explained to you on arrival and again later. Adequate toilet rolls are left in the bathroom. The wet room shower tiles are especially recommended non slip, and the bathroom has a non-slip rubber mat for use should guests require one. The property is less than 10 years old and has full insulation as required by Building Control, it is within the curtilage of a listed building and as such we are not allowed PVC windows, they are doubled glazed. There is now a dish drainer under the sink. There is a 400 megaflow pressurised system to the property giving more than adequate hot water. The television is in full working order, even if the guests think it is small.

Excellent cottage - one of the best we have stayed in! Ideal for two without being too small. All room are a good size and well equipped. Plenty of secure parking and well situated in the village with it's pub. Shop's just a few minutes away by car. Perfect location for visiting the Cotswolds. Would definitely return!
