Garden cottage is perfect for a getaway where you just want to relax and unwind and take in the breathtaking views. It is well furnished, warm and cozy, with a log burner for extra warmth, not that we needed it as we were warm enough. It is a very characteristic cottage, with its original beams across the ceilings, lovely limestone walls, and latched doors. The rooms are spacious, and the beds very comfortable, with electric blankets should you feel the need to use them. It is very well equipped in the kitchen with all that you need for a break away. Mick, the owner was very friendly and accommodating, providing us with a travel cot and highchair for our youngest, and even offered a stair gate if we wished. The views around this property are beautiful, very scenic, and there are some nice walks too for the four legged friend you might bring. Local amenities are not far in Leek, a ten minute drive, and there are some lovely country pubs along the winding country roads, head towards Hartington and you will see.

A lovely, cosy cottage. Thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. Location great for walking, sightseeing and for visiting Alton Towers. Very friendly and helpful owner next door. Only thing that would have been helpful would be advise that nearest shop was about 4 miles away. This could be a problem if you arrive with no provisions, expecting to buy locally.

Wonderful little cottage, does sleep 4 however we found it perfect for 2 adults and a large dog. Very clean and accommodating for dogs. Can be slightly chilly in the mornings however with the heaters and log fire provided, it is lovely and cosy. Owners are very welcoming. Just need to be mindful of low ceilings if you are taller than 5' 6".

Pokey little cottage. Low ceilings especially at top of steep stairs and in shower. Wooden floors, pine doors with garden gate latches made it very noisy to move around. Good location next to nice pub.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear that you found the cottage to be on the small side for your needs. It is a 17th century property and low beamed ceilings are a normal feature, which other guests have found charming. The internal door latches are also a common feature in older country residences and ours are not from garden gates. The majority of our guests have found the cottage to be good value for the price bracket in which it is placed.
