Description

Set within 44 acres of shared woodland with use of many on site facilities including an indoor heated pool.

Dyfed 9 is a detached log cabin situated in the beautiful wild uplands of Carmarthenshire, nestled within 44 acres of shared tranquil woodland within the grounds of the stately Pantglas Hall Estate. In a private, elevated position, this two bedroomed holiday home has been furnished to a very good standard and offers comfortable and cosy accommodation, with attractive log walls and a wood burner to relax and unwind in front of. Outside, the private patio garden to the side has a Mediterranean-style built-in barbecue and outdoor furniture, the perfect place to watch the birds and enjoy the chorus of nature.
Although the original Pantglas mansion no longer exists, the estate has been developed into a peaceful leisure resort, with a romantic ruined tower and ornamental lake with bridge. The impressive mews building, a short walk from Dyfed Nine, provides the focus for leisure facilities. Within the old Victorian walled garden, there is a purpose-built complex with an indoor heated swimming pool (open 365 days a year), a well equipped gym, sauna and hot tub. Outside, there are all-weather tennis courts, a children’s play area, football pitch and mini crazy golf.
In the mews building, free Wi-Fi is only available in the Cabin and the coffee shop, and a restaurant that offers traditional Sunday lunch, table d’hôte meals or an a la carte evening menu. At certain times of the year, you may also be able to join in on themed Welsh nights with traditional food, music and dancing. There are two full size snooker tables, a pool table, table tennis table, dart board and a children’s play room.
If you can tear yourself away from the Estate, there are plenty of places to explore. Carmarthenshire is rich in history, outstanding scenery and castles, and traditional market towns. The county is known as the ’garden of Wales’ for good reason. The area boasts some of the finest horticultural gems in Britain, with The National Botanical Gardens, the historical Aberglasney House and Garden, and Dinefwr House and Park, all within a 10-minute drive. Carmarthenshire also has six of the finest ’bucket and spade’ beaches in Europe, and one of the longest in Wales, Cefn Sidan, at Pembrey. The Brecon Beacons, Brechfa Forest, Black Mountains and Neath Valley are within easy reach, as are the rugged coasts of Pembrokeshire, Cardigan and the Gower Peninsula. Pantglas Hall can keep guests entertained throughout their stay, and lovely Dyfed 9 is the perfect place to be to enjoy everything that this resort and the wider area has to offer.Internet access is available free in the cabin at all times and also in the coffee shop at restricted times. Come and see for yourself. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 metres.

Myself and my 3 children ages 14,12 and 3 had a lovely stay here. Very cosy and has plenty of everything!I loved thete was bird nuts and suet balls to put out for the birds. We even had a squirrel visit! The log fire was a bonus with my eldest and he loved lighting it. The owners were great and made sure everything was going ok. Plenty of games and Dvds to watch if wanting to chill for a bit. Swimming pool and hot tub was very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. The cafe and restaurant staff could not be more helpful and friendly. We will be coming back as there's many more places we'd like to visit!

Dyfed 9 was very clean, well laid out, and well stocked. All games were available, Wii, board games as well as outside games. The cupboards had all sorts of utensils, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, cups, mugs - everything! Load of storage for food was available. The furniture was comfortable, could have done with something to put my feet up on! The heating took a bit of getting used to as it is all WiFi controlled. The log fire was a bonus and made it really cosy. Free WiFi was acceptable but on EE there is NO mobile signal - not that it worried me! The double bed was hard - the single beds were like laying on a board, resulting in a painful night's sleep Im afraid. Also the main bedroom smelled of urine - (as we got there - not after!) I'm sure this could be rectified by a thorough clean. The cabin itself was exceptionally clean in all respects. The area is lovely - does not take long to walk around though. However you would be hard placed to find anything better than this. The swimming pool/hot tub/sauna were by far the best I have experienced anywhere. I wish I used them more!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for taking the time to write this review. Glad you appreciated the facilities provided at both Dyfed 9 and at the resort. Log cabins can, occasionally, be prone, depending on weather conditions and ventilation, to musty odours. Sounds like it cleared up once the cabin was ventilated. However, we will check this out thoroughly. The choice of mattress firmness is a difficult one to gauge because of personal preference. Apologies that it was not suitable for you; we inherited the beds when we acquired the property in April 2016 and as part of our scheduled upgrades, they will be replaced. Look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

We had a fab time here Fabulous cabin with loads of space for the children to play inside and outside. Great TVs /wii games and garden games too. Comfortable beds with great quality linen and duvets. As a mom I found it brilliant having a washing machine ! Great kitchen utensils and options to cook / BBQ This was our second stay and we will definetly be coming again! We love the quiet and safe location yet being near to so many days out in beautiful Wales.

    Response from:

What a lovely place to stay. The owners checked in to make sure everything was ok. The place was spotless and had plenty of games to play. It was a little out of the way but that was why we choose it. Amenities were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.
