This lavish property sleeps ten guests and is set within an idyllic three acres of land including a fantastic tennis court.

Set in the heart of rural countryside, this spacious and lavishly furnished barn conversion shares 3 acres of grounds and an all weather tennis court, as well as free access to superb leisure facilities at Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, making it an ideal holiday home for families of all ages all year round. Whether for a holiday in the height of summer, enjoying the many attractions and beaches in the area, or for a family gathering in off peak season for a celebration, Dray Cottage is a superb choice. Dartmouth Golf and Country Club is 10 minutes’ drive. Other facilities at the club include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa and gym. Golfers also receive a discount on the green fees.
Dray Cottage is set in the small hamlet of Fallapit, just outside the village of East Allington midway between the towns of Kingsbridge, Totnes and Dartmouth. This AONB has many sandy beaches and stunning coastline very close by, including Blue Flag beaches Slapton Sands, Beesands, East Portlemouth, Bantham, Bigbury and Thurlestone. The town of Dartmouth is nestled on the River Dart and offers boat trips, exclusive shops, galleries, many pubs and some famous restaurants. Totnes, 5 miles up the river, is a town steeped in history, enjoying a colourful and exuberant atmosphere, while Salcombe is another pretty riverside town, boasting a busy estuary with many yachts sailing by and a myriad of interesting shops and pubs in its winding streets. There are several NT properties in the area to explore and some delightful open gardens. With the South Hams coastal path stretching over 60 miles there is great walking and time can be spent exploring the rugged moorland.
A little further afield and well worth a visit is the Eden Project in Cornwall. Riding, sailing, sea and coarse fishing are available locally, as well as a good variety of shopping. Shops 3 miles, pubs ½ mile.

    First impressions were disappointing as there was dog poo all over the grass. I cordoned off the area with two surf boards I found in the cupboard as I did not want my dogs using it. Also when we left the cottage one day there was dog poo on the pathway leading to the cottage. On another note there were two parking spaces clearly marked Dray cottage. These spaces were often occupied by other vehicles which I found quite annoying as my mother is 89 years old and a blue badge holder. On arrival we dropped our bags and went shopping. When we returned there was loud music coming from one of the other cottages. Furthermore , the cottage next door appeared to be doing some renovation work as there was drilling on several occasions. Finally, whilst the cottage was adequate it would benefit from a proper clean. Whilst these issues were irritating it did not stop us from enjoying our stay.

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We have allowed dogs at Dray for 10 years and this is the first complaint we have received on this issue, however, in response I have asked that when Dray is cleaned at the end of each week of use, the garden is also checked and any dog poo removed as required. Separately as you say the 2 parking bays for Dray are clearly marked, I will re iterate to the management company responsible for all properties at Fallapit that the bays should not be used by other visitors as there are visitor bays 1 minute from the property. Lastly, I would like to confirm that the cottage is cleaned after each week of use, and there are a further two deep cleans every year which the owner inspects personally.

    Spacious and very well equipped cottage. Games and toys were perfect for wet days. Lots of walks for the dogs and handily placed for local attractions. Would recommend for a base for a family holiday.

    Dray Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. Fabulous and well equipped. Great downstairs shower. The only thing I think worth noting is the state of the tennis court. It was in bad disrepair. Cracks and holes all over the court. The lines were very faint and the net sagged. Also got bitten by horseflies on two occasions whilst playing. But I must reiterate that the accommodation was extremely good and great location. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property but if you are going primarily to play a lot of tennis then that might be a problem.

    A lovely week spent at Dray Cottage. It is very spacious and homely with a very well equipped kitchen and all home comforts. A couple of points to improve would be maybe fitting an electric shower to cope with 8 people having a shower in the morning, and maybe larger towels as we only had two that would fit around the 4 adults. Also the patio table and chairs could do with an update! Other than that it was lovely with comfy beds and nice linen.

    We enjoyed a lovely family holiday here for Whit week. The cottage was really comfortable with an amazingly well equipped kitchen ( one of the best I've come across in any holiday cottage) The cottage is part of an old country estate so has beautiful park land surroundings with lots of scenic walks and nice neighbours. Kingsbridge is probably the closest main town which is utterly charming, with a fab Friday farmers market. Stunning part of the country.
