Just loved the cottage, and layout. Very warm and cosy. Wood burner excellent. Very well equipped. Only exception would be either a broom or vacuum would be greatly beneficial.

We really enjoyed staying at this little cottage although there was a premium for being there at New Year...ouch! It is very comfortable and homely - lounge has a lovely log burner which makes it very cosy and comfy leather couches and low lighting. The owner had also put up a Christmas tree which was nice at this time of year. The double bed is super comfy - we would like to have taken it home a.ong with the pillows!! It is nice that the owner allows dogs and the house is very welcoming for a dog owner with doggie ornaments and pictures on the walls. The kitchen has everything you could need - even tea, coffee and sugar and cloths and dishwasher tablets are provided. Very thoughtful. The bathroom is fine although the shower is a bit wimpy and we felt it was the one thing we would change for something a bit more powerful. Outside there is plenty parking right next to the house and plenty of rough ground to walk the dog on. Altogether a fab, little place to stay. We would return any day. The Cawdor Inn is nearby - it'svery friendly and does lovely meals, too, and there are lovely walks at Culbin Forest and beach and a big Sainsbury not far away.

First morning seriously unpleasant toilet blockage problems. Not repaired until late following day after prompting . We had considered returning home it was that foul. Cottage accessed by single track roads. No dog walks close. Dingy living room with the smallest tv. Not even a tea bag or biscuit for a welcome. Surprised at other positive reviews in visitors book.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. There was a slight smell coming from our septic tank which was brought to our attention by the guest. Within 24 hours the company addressed the issues which was out of our control as the findings were that guest have previously put wipes etc down the toilet which unfortunately may cause blockages. At the time this was reported we did offer to put the guest up in a B & B for the night until this was fixed, but the guests declined and advised they were happy to stay. The cottage is situated in the country where you can finds lots of walks as soon as you step out of the door. The size of the TV we feel suits the size of the room. We do supply to our guest on arrival, Tea, coffee and sugar.

The cottage was so dark inside and the lighting in the sitting room very very poor. The twin bedroom was too small for the two beds to be used as twin. The door would not shut.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments, we value customer feedback. The images are an accurate representation of Criagellachie Cottage- the lounge has two windows and a total of 4 lights including an additional 2 lamps. We feel the lighting is adequate but we would have done our utmost to provide you with additional lighting if this had been brought to our attention at the time of your stay. The size of the twin bedroom meets with the requirements of Cottages.com and there is a reasonable amount of space in the room along with storage facilities. With regard to the door, this has been thoroughly checked since your stay and we can confirm the door closes with ease. We provide all guests at Craigellachie Cottage with our contact details so customers can approach us with any issues or concerns they may have.
