Another lovely week spent at this lovely cottage. Everything is on hand if you don't want to drive anywhere, Mini supermarket, chippy, two pubs. A tesco in nearby Millom. Lovely walking, fantastic views from the lounge which is on the first floor. I can recommend the Harbour Hotel with its enclosed garden and friendly staff.

We absolutely loved this cottage. The views from the living room and main bedroom are 'to die for' and we were blessed with sunny weather all week. It was very clean and clearly well cared for. I would happily recommend this cottage to anyone and everyone!

Lovely cottage. Very comfortable. Bit disappointed with the location, lovely to be so close to the beach but the village itself left a lot to be desired. Just one little 'picky' point with the cottage - shower in downstairs bathroom needs some TLC. The shower head needs replacing or cleaning as there was no spray. Other than that it was perfect. Particularly liked the wine and nibbles!

One of the best cottages we have stayed at. Everything thought of and extras. Cosy, comfortable and modern, with a lovely view.

I didn't understand why people were saying not everyone's cup of tea but I do now. Personally I love this place and we would definitely go again. My dogs loved it as we did too, great location, lovely well kept clean accommodation. A little disappointed that I hadn't spotted it had no garden but it really didn't become an issue just meant the dogs were walked for every wee needed so they were very happy. Handy for the beach and close enough to the tourist areas of the lakes. Walking the dogs at 5.30 am was pretty special

This was our first holiday from a cottage website and we were not disappointed. The holiday home was beautiful. It had a lovely view across to the sand dunes and our girls loved looking at the boats and spotting the dogs on the beach. The accommodation was spotless and considering the couple before us had taken a dog, you would never have known. The facilities were excellent with a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfy and the extras for our one year old were superb (travel cot, high chair and stair gate). An unexpected extra touch of milk and wine in the fridge on arrival was well needed after our long trip to the Lakes. We will definately recommend this property to our friends.

We had a fabulous time at cockle shell cottage. The cottage had everything that was needed, bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival was a lovely gesture. The owners had even gone to the trouble of putting Christmas decorations up. Location was so relaxing, lovely walks and the pub which also had nice bar meals was a mere two minute walk. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back.

A lovely base to explore this beautiful area. Ideal for dog owners with a close by clean beach and dunes. The house was warm and clean with an ever changing view across the little estuary to the beach. There was a lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. The caretaker Sue was extremely helpful and friendly. The house has three floors with fairly steep stairs. We did find the bannister on the first stair case rather awkward to hold and use as you couldn't close your hand around it to pull on.
