Lovely garden, well enclosed for our small terrier. Cottage very clean and well equipped, perfect base for lots of places to visit. Plenty of doorstep walks too.

This is a lovely, comfortable cottage. The garden is well kept and ideal to both sit in and exercise a dog. The location is good, there are some lovely walks straight from the door and lots of places to visit just a short drive away. There are just three things we found against the cottage: 1. The wireless connection is poor which meant checking for places to visit was trickier than expected. 2. The Childe of Hale pub was always packed and not really very accommodating or friendly. However, the pub a bit further on (can't remember the name but it's a Marstons) is friendly and the food is ok. 3. I never met the owners, my partner did and they were friendly and helpful. However, I was a bit miffed that, whilst we were out, they'd been in the garden and set up a pirate display! Now I appreciate it's their property and we were just weekend renters, but it would have been nice to be asked, or even told, that they were going to be using the garden while we were out. But would we go back? Yes definitely!

We enjoyed a lovely week staying in a very characterful cottage. It was warm with everything we needed. The location is ideal for Liverpool, Chester and Manchester. There are lovely walks close by along the Mersey. The fresh free range eggs supplied were a real treat.

Lovely comfy cottage, with every thing close at hand. Walks straight out the door. Found Airport a bit close for complete quiet, but otherwise a lovely relaxing place to stay.
