An immaculate, very comfortable and unusual cottage with an intriguing history. We were so happy there that we were reluctant to go out each day! Thank you to the owners for the little extras such as newly laid eggs from their chickens. Another time, we plan to take two of our grandchildren, as they would love the little upstairs bedroom.

Loved staying in this quaint holiday cottage. It was perfect for our needs for a long weekend break with our friends. The owners were very friendly and informative and they had thought in everything to help make our stay enjoyable and hassle free. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped and the log burner was easy to light. All round great facilities. Plenty of room for four guests and parking for 2 cars comfortably. Pub is practically next door and there are lovely walks nearby. Would love to return.

As pretty as a picture.... my partner and I had a wonderful long weekend spent in the Childe of Hale. Such a relaxing, warm and welcoming feel to the cottage. Beautifully decorated. Lovely walks on your doorstep. What more do you want. Will definitely come back again.

Stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. We had 2 dogs with us as we had to take sick relatives dog but that was no problem to the owners. Fantastic location with great walks down to the beach. External garden hose so our border collies could be washed down in the back garden. The cottage is beautifully presented internally and very clean. Lovely historical features such as exposed Tudor beams enhanced by modern kitchen and shower room. Off street parking for 3/4 cars. Traditional English pub with good choice of food only 100 yds. Just perfect for us.

Excellent cottage with easy parking and fully equipped. Only two of us and a dog so not sure what the second bedroom would be like to use. So warm we didn't need to use the log fire and plenty of hot water. Only 2 minor shortcomings one was the back door lock was temperamental (sure that will be fixed) and the fence in the front garden was relatively low so may not prove a barrier to larger dogs. Will certainly be looking to stay again

This is lovely cottage, very clean with nice fixtures and furnishings. Good location and lots of parking. There was only two issues that stop it getting 10 out of 10 and that was that the window in the bedroom does not open and this meant trying to sleep in stuffy atmosphere. The second is that we unfortunately visited in winter - the main room and dining room were so cold. Lighting the fire in the main room helped to make it a bit warmer, but it was impossible to linger over a nice evening meal as the small radiator in the dining room was insufficient to make it a decent temperature. Both rooms need additional heat source for the winter, especially when it is also rainy and wet clothes need to be dried. This is such a simple solution and would make me give this a perfect score as we did like the cottage otherwise. I am sure that summer visitors would have a wonderful time

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The bedroom window opens by sliding across not opening out. The heating thermostat is in the living room and can be turned up to suit you. So sorry to hear you had issues on your stay. However we are on hand to hopefully sort them out for you.
