Nice little cottage, expected the property location to be a little more remote but enjoyed the walks around the surrounding area.

A quirky, deceptively spacious cottage in a great location. Keith, the owner, was welcoming and helpful. Kitchen was well equipped and plenty of towels. Kitchen and bathroom were clean. However, it was too cluttered and dark for our liking - it was like being in a bric-a-brac shop, with all surfaces, floors and walls covered with items, including juke-boxes and pinball machine. Didn't find it relaxing or very comfortable, and a bigger TV set would have been good for us. Gardens and outside spaces were overgrown and this, we felt, contributed to the lack of natural light. Had to have lights on during the day. The 2 pubs in the village were good, with friendly staff. Be aware, at the moment, The Red Cow only serves food at lunchtimes and the Butchers Arms food in the evenings. Meals at both were good and value for money. No shop in the village, but a couple about 15mins drive. All in all, though, we had a great holiday. Lots of places to visit within 1 hr drive, area is particularly good for walking/

A nice-sized cottage in a good location, but was completely cluttered with bric-a-brac. Not easy to relax in. Kitchen and bathroom seemed clean, but the house smelled dusty throughout. Cottage owner was friendly and gave us a courtesy call before the holiday. We had a nice holiday but could have done with a decent TV and DVD player in the evenings, in calm surroundings, to sit and relax with.
