Situated nearby Cardigan Bay and Aberaeron, fantastic family days out and sightseeing to be enjoyed with attractions suitable for all ages.

Situated just 5 minutes from Cardigan Bay and within easy reach ot the whole of the beautiful Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coastline and coastal walks, these three converted stone holiday cottages (refs OSB, OSC and OSC) are peacefully set on a farm with a selection of alpacas, donkeys, llamas, goats, ducks and chickens. The owners who live on the farm, which is set in 57 acres of rolling countryside, encourage the children to interact with the animals, and are also pleased to offer the use of a barbecue hut nicknamed the ‘Hobbit House’ by the family. Guests can hire it during their stay directly with the owners, subject to availability and for a small charge. The owner can also supply their own barbecue meat packs on request (charge payable). Within a 15-minute drive visitors can discover quaint New Quay, famous for the bottlenose dolphins that can often be seen from the harbour (boat trips available in season). The colourful, Georgian, harbour town of Aberaeron is just a bit further up the coast road, with its chic shops and plenty of restaurants. Antique shoppers and browsers will enjoy the nearby market town of Newcastle Emlyn, and Cenarth with its waterfalls is also close by and offers indoor swimming, coracle rides, fishing and paintballing. There are numerous attractions in the area, particularly suitable for children. Nearby is the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, which is set on a headland overlooking the nature reserve of Cardigan Island, home to thousands of sea birds. At the foot of the cliffs, a colony of Atlantic grey seals can be observed in their natural habitat. Spectacular coastline and wonderful views can be savoured from the NT-managed Penbryn Bay and a visit to NT Cilgerran Castle can also be enjoyed. Only the ruins remain of this striking 13th-century castle, whose vantage point overlooks the wonderful Teifi Gorge. Also nearby is the town of Cardigan with its restored medieval castle. The Teifi Valley Railway is another experience for the visitor, a 2 mile journey offers wonderful views of the valley and countryside. Golf and horse riding can also be found locally. Shops 1 mile.

We had a great week at the cottage, very clean and plenty of utensils, pans etc. Very warm and plenty of hot water. We enjoyed exploring this part of Wales and enjoyed the morning visits from the animals. Only negative we missed an enclosed garden so the dogs could pop out for a wee!! Hobbit house is a must in any weather. X

Response on behalf of the Owner; Glad you enjoyed your stay. Fare comment about the lack of garden, we are looking into fencing off the patio area like the stables. Thank you for your feedback.

We had a week's holiday in the Granary- September 2015. We received a warm welcome from the hosts with some lovely welcoming gifts:- flowers, freshly collected eggs and Bara Brith. Our dog, a collie, was even greeted by the family cat on arrival who boldly rubbed into him without a minute's hesitation. The family dogs were friendly also. The cottage was very comfortable and very clean. The floors are tiled so perfect for dogs as they are easily cleaned. The courtyard is very clean as the exercise area for dogs is in two large fields a short walk away. The farm animals were very friendly and it was lovely to be greeted in the morning by a donkey braying at the kitchen window for an apple or an alpaca peering in at breakfast. This would be a perfect place to bring young children as they can hand feed the goats, donkeys and alpacas and there is a lovely hobbit hut to hire for BBQ's. In our case we were two couples . The men folk were elderly and the downstairs bedroom and toilet were very handy for the one member who needed supplementary oxygen. The Granary is therefore suitable for disabled. There are three double bedrooms with comfortable beds. The cottage is well equipped with a spacious kitchen and cosy lounge. All in all we had a very enjoyable holiday.
