In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

Ideal for active holidays, with an equestrian centre on site and easy access to Coed Y Brenin for mountain biking.

This group of three holiday properties (refs 23249, 29517 and 29518) occupy a great central touring position that is close to the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, Mawddach trail and cycle path; once on the trail, a public footpath runs alongside all the way to the fantastic sandy beach, ideal for families wanting to be near the sea. Walk the other direction on the trail, and go over the famous wooden railway bridge across the estuary to Barmouth. Situated on the owners’ working farm, guests to Bwlchgwyn Farm have the added attraction of horseriding on site - you can pony trek on the beach or have lessons. This area is great for bird watching, fishing and mountain biking, with easy access to the mountain bike centre at Coed Y Brenin, and Go Ape. It is also well-placed for visiting Cader Idris and the Creggenan Lakes. All areas of Cardigan Bay, including Tywyn, Fairbourne, Dolgellau and Barmouth, are easy to reach from this midway point; whilst some resorts offer sandy beaches, others have an array of shops, many full of typical Welsh crafts and gifts. A little further afield, the towns and mountain ranges of Snowdonia have plenty to offer visitors of all ages. The Fairbourne/Highland steam railways, slate mines, Portmeirion Italianate village, Mount Snowdon and numerous castles and golf courses (nearest 2 miles) are to be found within the Snowdonia National Park. Hen Ysgubir (29518) is a ground floor apartment, situated below Ysgubor Uchaf (29517), which is the first floor apartment. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

5 steps to entrance: All on first floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 3 bedrooms: 2 double, 1 twin. Shower room with toilet.

Electric coal-effect fire in living room included. Electric heaters (in bedrooms) included. Electric cooker. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars). Me and five of my family members stayed at this cottage for two nights in late January 2016, I am delighted to say that we had a wonderful stay at the Cottage and it was very clean and all the utensils we needed were at the kitchen. We were provided with everything we needed, the heating was very good, there is also underfloor heating and the bathroom had hot water for the shower. The cottage was quite difficult to find however the landlady was very helpful and instructed us even though we arrived late, I would definitely consider this Cottage again.

We found the cottage nice and warm, but unfortunately lacked essentials eg soap and toilet paper and was not very clean with a dirty toilet. Our phones 02 and three could not get any reception so with the cottage not having wifi it is something to keep in mind. Also the bed was very hard which we don't like.

Warm and comfortable. Service from owner excellent - boiler broke third day in and was repaired within 24 hours... (you would be lucky to get a boiler engine within a week where we come from!) The location is good for touring - but around 20 miles drive from a major shop or petrol station. Some more info on locations of both would be helpful in the cottage- as you don't see anything obvious driving in on the main roads. With no wifi and very little phone coverage getting info is tricky for most of us urban dwellers! Few bits of kit missing or not working (dvd player). Left report with owner/ didn't really impact on holiday. All minor bits though. A good property - and excellent service from the owner given the unforeseen circumstances with the boiler.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views over the Mawddach Estuary and the sea at Barmouth. Ideally situated for horse riders and plenty of great walks for the dog. Walking across the fantastic railway bridge to Barmouth for breakfast every day gives you sea views, superb views of the estuary and Cader Idris beyond. Great for cycling with the trail along the estuary. All in all a great location and John and Gemma are great hosts.
