Buddleia boasts a fantastic south-facing garden with BBQ and children’s play area, perfect for days when you wish to just relax.

Buddleia is a fabulous, well-furnished, modern holiday property of very generous size, superbly suited to a large family for summer holidays and family gatherings year-round. The owners have renovated it to a high standard to create a wonderful, detached home set in the village of West Charleton, between the riverside town of Kingsbridge and the wide expanse of beach at Slapton Sands, on the South Devon Coast. It has its own private gated driveway and large, enclosed, level, lawned garden - very secluded and south facing. Skirting the rear of the property is a large decked area with glass balustrade, table (seats 12) and steps down to the lawn. To the front is a small pebble Mediterranean-style patio area. This is a very family-friendly holiday home; the large kitchen/dining room forms the main hub of the house and - with its large breakfast bar and bar stools - creates a good social area for cooking, chatting and dining. The separate living room features a 42in plasma TV and wood-burning stove - ideal for cosy nights in during autumn and winter; in summer the large French doors can open up onto the decking. For children, there is an outdoor play area with a slide and swings. West Charleton lies on the A379 - one of the many villages en route from Kingsbridge to Dartmouth. Within 20-30 minutes’ drive are many popular and well-loved locations in South Devon: the yachting haven of Salcombe, the rugged cliffs and tiny coves at Hope Cove and Thurlestone, Bantham Beach (popular with surfers), the busy market town of Kingsbridge, Totnes and Modbury, the famous beaches of Slapton Sands, working fishing village of Beesands, East Prawle - surrounded by NT coastline and close to the Start Point Lighthouse, the little sandy bays at East Portlemouth and the historic maritime town of Dartmouth. Shop 1/2 mile, pub 50 yards.

    A fabulous property with a great layout to suit a large family group. Everything worked very well. The garden is safe and exciting for young children with a great treehouse/climbing frame with a slide and swings. The property is very clean and kept to a high standard. A great place to explore South Devon

    Perfect house in a great location. Stayed here with our children and grandchildren age range 7months to 65 years and it suited us perfectly. Lots of great walking on coast path with plenty of places to visit too.

    Our week long break was a family gathering to celebrate my 60th birthday, our party consisted of eight adults and two children, (ages 4 and 1). We could not fault any aspect of this property, except Great Grandma could not find a toast rack, corrected by a visit to a charity shop in Kingsbridge, this was left at the property in order for others to serve their morning toast in style! Plus points worth mentioning, ample parking, we had four cars, plenty of space for more. The toy cupboard has a wide range of things to keep the kiddies amused as well as the well constructed, swings and slide set up in the garden, (fast slide). Kitchen is well equipped, although we did not cook as much as expected, as their is a pub almost opposite the property and on our first night we ordered food and the plates wrapped in foil were brought across to Buddleia; we also used the pub for Sunday lunch and a family meal at the end of the week. Location and the view from back of house is wonderful, good quality bench and chairs to dine outside and sun loungers to laze away those sunny days. We holiday in rented houses at least once per year and their is usually some aspect that does not come up to par, this was not the case with Buddleia, if anything it exceeded our expectations.

    Superb residence and location, for our family together, plenty of space for everyone. Will certainly book again in the future. The owners had thought of everything you would require. We also had a couple of evenings at the Ashburton Arms (over the road) , great food and drink, and a warm welcome

    We had a very enjoyable stay. A thunderstorm directly overhead stopped the wifi for a few days but owners were very helpful and sorted out the problem as quickly as they could. The accommodation was spacious and very suitable for our family group of 6 adults and 4 children.

    Lovely house with all the facilities needed, the owners have thought of everything. One word, Fantastic. However The pub over the road was very unhelpful and totally boring.

    What a beautiful and relaxing stay. With a group of 10 friends for a long weekend and Buddleia was the perfect place to enjoy our stay in Devon. The place was spotless when we first arrived, with lots of parking space too (we had 3 cars and there was room for more in the private driveway). Lots of lovely kitch furnishings, and more than enough living room space, kitchen equipment and dining seats for all of us and more. We did a lot of evening dining and games, and it was a great place to have done this. Each bedroom was so inviting, with crisp sheets, a light airy atmosphere, and towels for every individual. Plenty of natural lighting and peaceful at night. Never a queue for the bathroom either with plenty of en suites to go around. Wifi is a little temperamental and could do with being a bit stronger for the size of the property and potentially the amount of people that might be using it - but nothing that affected our stay. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax, entertain, and not have any worries as you enjoy the great views from the windows and garden. Definitely want to come back here and have a great BBQ evening when it's warmer in the summers with the amazing decking and garden area. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
