Looking for a large house to accommodate 7 people off and on during the week before our nephew's wedding, I was blessed to discover Brook House Farm Cottage. As soon as we walked in, it welcomed us, as did the owners and their daughter and son-in-law, with whom we had several heart to hearts about the state of farming and how to diversify! Comfort: my sister has gone home to buy a new mattress for her bed because the cottage one she had was so comfortable. Two days in, she stripped the bed to find out the make! Location: Only problem we found was getting out of the drive onto the road, which was part of a diversion while we were there - perhaps a mirror is needed. We didn't travel around looking for many tourist activities but enjoyed canal walks, watching the locks being used and climbing up to the view from Beeston Castle. Close enough to Manchester Airport for our daughter to fly from Germany, to join us and the wedding for 30 hours. Cleanliness: Couldn't fault it. Spiders will make webs all week in old buildings but there were none when we arrived. Local amenities: Discovered The Badger at Church Minshull after Sunday's service, so ate there most of the week because of a good and varied menu. Fresh food came from the local Farm Shop and garden nursery. Great local bakery. Value for money: Whoever puts that at 10? ;) but it certainly was cheaper than putting all of us up at a hotel for the week!

This was a lovely near perfect cottage, we went as a family with 2 youngish children (12 & 9) and my parents. The children were very pleased to see the Easter bunny had visited them there when we arrived!! The cottage and grounds were clean, warm, spacious and well equipped. The addition of wifi helped us to plan days out.

We stayed at Brook House Farm Cottage for my dads 80th birthday in January,I had previously stayed here with a group of friends and chose to come back as we had a great time the first time round and loved the accommodation. The cottage is fabulous with a warm and comfortable feel and ideal for family /friends to get together. The cottage is extremely well equipped and we had an amazing time. The owners were very hospitable and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend Brook House Farm Cottage to others and we will definitely return!

The house has a lovely sized lounge for the number of bedrooms with a great log burner. Beautiful surrounding scenery. Kitchen is very well equipped however the grill took a long time to heat but this is compensated for by the oven if you're cooking a breakfast. We received a lovely warm welcome from Mr & Mrs Gough who were very helpful. We have read previous reviews any yes there is no wifi which isn't a bad thing but this can be easily overcome by taking your own 'hotspot' with you which we did if you feel you need to access the Internet. Overall we had a great new year week and couldn't have asked for better. Would definitely return for a further stay

The cottage was in a great location for exploring and shopping. There was plenty of space with spacious rooms and lovely gardens. Our only negative was that there is no Internet and although we initially thought that this would be okay for a few days. It did spoil our stay by having no way of checking work emails or having anyway to research places to visit. It would also have been nice if it welcomed dogs. For those two reasons we would not book this cottage again. If you can live without Internet then you will love the place. Owner was very welcoming and friendly.

Helpful owners Mark and Claire. Cottage had everything we needed. Good location for visiting Cheshire and into Wales. Lots of National Trust places in easy reach.
