The cottage may be 15 miles from the next supermarket, but as we made excursions every day bringing us to Fort William and beyond, this was not really an obstacle. Otherwise the house was great, perfectly equipped, very clean and cozy. For Harry Potter fans a must, as the Jacobite train (the "Hogwarts Express") passes directly behind the hourse four times daily. Better than standing in the crown at Glenfinnan viaduct! The owners were very friendly, excellent contact. We were two adults and two children - with three bedrooms and lots of space just perfect.

Lovely holiday home in stunning location. Very clean, warm and comfortable - nice to come home too after a day out. We didn't think we liked trains that much but got very excited when the Jacobite steam train came past each morning - literally at your back door. The house is in a great location - we went to Mallaig and took the ferry to Skye, had a lovely day at Arisaig and Morar (stunning beach), cable car up the Nevis Range and a lovely walk when we got out at the top, ten pin bowling in Fort William. Also board games in the house on a rainy afternoon with the log burner on. Lots to do and a great holiday. Thank you

Lovely cottage with fantastic views all around and if you're a fan of steam trains (as we are) then you're in for a treat as the 'Jacobite' passes by your back garden twice a day travelling from Fort William to Mallaig. A short walk from the cottage takes you to the magnificent Glenfinnan viaduct (a treat for Harry Potter fans), the Glenfinnan visitor centre and the monument erected to commemorate the Jacobite rising of 1745 which overlooks the head of the beautiful Loch Shiel. The local catholic church of St. Mary and St. Finnan's is well worth a visit, built between 1870 and 1872 in Gothic style in a magnificent raised location with stupendous views down Loch Shiel and the mountains.

We had a brilliant holiday and this was partly due to this lovely accommodation which was a pleasure to come back to after a day out. The location was stunning; and the trains going past was such a bonus for my grandchildren. The views were beautiful, the rooms were great - we all had our privacy which was lovely. We had such a memorable holiday; the weather was great, we woke up to sunshine every morning. Glenfinnan too is so beautiful, we could have stayed there all summer!

Lovely location and handy for walking in lots of the local area from Fort William to Arisaig and Mallaig. Michelin guide restaurant about 200 yds down the road - not too pricy either. Very pleasant helpful owners who cannot do enough for you. The railway line is next to the property but with very few trains it is not a problem. If you are a steam train enthusiast. It is ideal for watching the locomotives climbing away from Glenfinnan station. We still have lots to explore in the area and wouldn't look any further for accommodation for our next visit

Nice, comfortable cottage, well equiped kitchen. Even has WiFi now (though it was not working once, and we had to switch on/off unlabeled fuses to reboot router).

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our cottage, but would always ask that if customers have any problems whilst at the cottage, they contact us in the first instance. This is a truely fantastic property is a stunning location - I would reccommend this to anyone who wants to explore the area as me and my party did. Big thumps up! The log burner was an important feature for our stay and we used it every night. It certainly made our week in scotland very comfortable and enjoyable.

We choose blythswood because of its location as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary whilst there and we had got married in the village of Glenfinnan we really enjoyed our stay with the rest of our family and found the house to be perfect for our needs

We loved staying in the Blythwood! Very comfortable and cosy, plenty of space... Nothing to improve on apart from two things, the lack of wifi and as a family with small children, we would have liked the use of a high chair and a fence around the garden, to let the kids play outside. All contact we had with the owners was lovely and all our questions attended to quickly. One of our kids broke a bedside table lamp and there was no issue made of this, really fantastic customer service. I know from speaking with the owners that wifi is something they are looking to add in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Blythswood. The house offered all the comforts of home and was perfectly situated for our needs, as were were attending our daughters wedding in Glenfinnan and could walk to the church etc. The only thing that could have improved our stay would be the addition of wi-fi. With last minute wedding preparations to deal with it was very frustrating to have to go to nearby hotels and buy coffee just to do emails, but to be fair the cottage does not advertise having wifi, it might just be something the owners could consider for the future, with internet being so important to people these day

Excellent location. Convenient for climbing in Glen Coe and for Ben Nevis. Also easy trip up to Skye. Added bonus of the Glenfinnan viaduct a short walk away and the Jacobite steam train coming past every day. Very clean and comfortable cottage. Highly recommended.
