The cottage is very comfortable and superbly positioned. Shops are literally less than a minutes walk away, which is very convenient! There are also a number of pubs very close by, which provide excellent food (we had dinner in The London Inn on several ocassions and enjoyed them all). I highly recomment this cottage.

A pleasant cottage in a small harbour village. It was convenient for walking, which was the main reason for our holiday. The cafe and restaurant culture was much better in Dunster Village but the harbour was fun and we experienced the most amazing firework display one evening. The local convenience store was sufficient for day to day needs and generally we really experienced a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Just a few minutes' walk from the harbour, beaches, pubs, and shops, Birch Cottage was wonderfully quiet in its own gated community with communal courtyard and small private seating area at the rear. With a public car park so close, loading and loading was easy. Free wifi at Chives Cafe just a couple of minutes away. The bunk bedroom is tiny and the eating area in the kitchen/sitting room is a bit cramped -- and we coffee-lovers could have done with a cafetiere -- but these are minor details. Birch cottage is a great base for exploring Exmoor, the Quantock Hills, and some beautiful coastline, villages and National Trust and English Heritage properties. And don't forget to go crabbing too!

Entrance had rather a nasty smell. Dirty dishcloth left in sink. Microwave on top of fridge freezer dangerous to use, lifting hot items from above your head was an accident waiting to happen.also needed cleaning. Shower screen was dirty.

It was really great BUT there was both written and verbal notices to us that there was "off road parking" - and there was most definitely not. It cost £4.60 a day and the visitor book made reference to it from several guests - but this is not being addressed. That was the only disappointment.

lounge and kitchen area could have been cleaner. Some equipment eg microwave needs updating. Also no jug or tray or set of glasses. Needs instructions on tv and rubbish disposal. Downside is having to use public car park. Courtyard was pretty when we visited before-this time only weeds in pots!Black out blinds in bedroom essential! Had to use spare towels to reduce glare!Watchet is great so is good to be in centre.
