3 generations of our family stayed at Bank Cottage to celebrate a 70th birthday. We all enjoyed our visit immensely. The cottage itself has been finished to a high standard, is very clean and has everything you could wish to have in a holiday cottage. We found the location to be very good, close to Chatsworth, Bakewell, Eyam and Matlock Bath and very peaceful. We ate at the local pub (Sir William) which is less than 5 minutes walk away and were made very welcome, enjoying a good meal. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bank Cottage and would definitely return if we were to visit the Peak District again.

This cottage was really well furnished and surprisingly large compared to its outer image. We could not fault the accommodation. The only disappointment was the rear 'garden'. Yes, it was enclosed, but there was not actually much in the way of garden, just a small seating area and a steep slope up to the back gate. However we didn't need this facility on this visit as our grandchildren are not yet old enough to play out. The only other down was the parking. One of the spaces is actually a narrow garage with no roof. There is carpet fixed to the walls to protect cars from scrapes, little room for error. Better to take the walls down and have a parking bay. We had a really great time here, four adults and two under twos sharing. The hotel just down the road was very welcoming and served good food.

An excellent base for rediscovering the beauty of this part of the Peak District. Met our needs perfectly.

Lovely and spacious, warm cottage. Great area to have as a base. No pets was good. Parking might not suit everyone. Lovely places local to eat out.

Bank Cottage is delightful. It has every home comfort, is excellently equipped and is conveniently located for lovely walks and great places to eat and visit. Jane makes every effort to ensure guests are well informed and comfortable in the cottage. She tops it off with a lovely lemon drizzle cake! We have stayed in a number of gold award cottages and this one is definitely one of the best. We will be returning.
