The previous rave reviews are entirely justified. We spent a fabulous Christmas here and will definitely return.

The cottage was lovely. Ideal for a large family. We had two kids, parents and a grand parent and it was idea. The location is FABULOUS. Easy access to great scenery in the Peak District, near Bakewell, Chatsworth and very easy to pop into Sheffield. The owners went out of their way to be helpful and informative. I felt they were very invested in us having a great vacation. Plan ahead and get a grocery deliver service as there aren't that many food shops around, but the proximity to a playground, a pub and just the stunning surroundings more than make up for that. The view from the upstairs windows was amazing to wake up to every morning.

Had a fantastic time away with the family here. There are many great walks out of Grindleford, and it's only a short drive to other villages with more amenities, e.g. Calver or Hathersage. The cleanliness of the rooms and the facilities in the cottage are unrivaled. It literally has everything that you would need! The home owners are really lovely people who checked that we were okay and asked if we needed anything else. They also left a lovely lemon drizzle cake for us on arrival. What they certainly do well is make you feel at home in this cottage. Every tiny detail adds up and makes you incredibly comfortable. Without a doubt I would recommend this place to family and friends. The only thing I would say is actually about Grindleford itself rather than the cottage. It does not quite have the same facilities as other local villages so you would need to walk or take a short drive to get food etc. My other tip would be to go to Maazi (in Hathersage) for an Indian take out or restaurant experience - simply fantastic food!
