Cottage has a lot of character. There are 3 bedrooms, one downstairs and two upstairs. The upstairs ones have low ceilings and there is also a small shower room/toilet - so more suited to Children (as we had) than adults. Not a major point, but downstairs bedroom furniture seemed very dated and a bit out of place compared to that in the rest of the property. Well cleaned on the whole, although end of season cleaning inside of fridge doors etc wouldn't go amiss. Good sized kitchen and excellent central heating/hot water system. Cottage located about 5 miles from Alnwick, so if you want to eat out you're going in the car (recommend 'Elan' in Seahouses). There is quite a lot of noise from the adjacent road, although mainly during the day, so did not bother us. Owner very helpful in suggesting places to go and also proactively calling us about building works next door, which were not in the end a problem. Would return.

Cottage is very well situated to nearby places of interest, making it a very good base. Good local places for walking dogs, for first thing in a morning and evening.

A very pleasant stay in a nice cottage. The only drawbacks were the small upstairs shower room where the slant of the roof prevented our tall men being able to stand at the toilet. I obviously realise this is something which cannot be rectified. Also we had to juggle around the furniture in the lounge to enable us to sit at the dining room table. We had to keep our dog (a spaniel) on a lead in the front garden as she could easily get over the wall, especially near the gate.

Loved the cottage. Set in a really pretty garden. Very convenient for visiting lots of interesting places. Easy to walk with the dogs down to Sugar Sands. Lots of excellent places to eat out close by. Only slight problem could not access the garden from the cottage.

Clean, tidy and good location for a number of places to visit. Upstairs in the property doesn't suit taller people !!!
