We were a group of 6. The cottage was extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The garden was secure which gave us peace of mind as we had 2 dogs . The situation of the cottage was brilliant for exploring Bourton with no need to use a car. The owners were there to meet us and were really friendly and helpful.

The bedrooms in the roof were unbearably hot in the summer, a fan had been provided, but it was needed in all the upstairs rooms. The roof is sloping so it was impossible to sit up in bed as there was no space. In another room you hit your head trying to get to furniture under the slope. There was no milk or sugar to make a cup of tea when you arrived. (This has always been available in the other properties that we have rented) The property was over priced for the facilities it offered. The house is by a noisy busy road and the limited garden space affords little privacy at the front where the main seating area is situated.

Response on behalf of the Owner; I seem to remember we had several hot weeks last summer and feel sorry that I wasn't able to help more with heat problems - I only have electric fans. Alderley sits back from a village road and is very quiet and the house is secluded. Maybe Bourton had some special event on that made our road busy.

Felt this property was overpriced. Very little garden and not suitable for children. Could have had some games, DVDs, toys etc. No Sky as advertised. However great for adults sharing, lovely bedrooms with ensuites. Close to village with several attractions. Enjoyed our days out.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; We always greet our guests and say if they need anything to please call us. We have always had SKY. Wi-Fi in our area has now been updated and we check this every week. There are games and books in the lounge - unfortunately due to Health & Safety reasons we do not supply toys - parents will usually bring their own.

Our four day stay was perfect. We were a party of ten, eight adults and two small children, ages ranging from 2 and a half to 72. We had all the facilities we needed and more besides! A personal 'hello' and 'goodbye' from the owners, who could not have been more helpful. All the fittings and furniture including kitchen, were of the highest quality, making looking after everything much easier. Bourton on the water is an ideal family centre, with no need to use the car for several days. All attractions we went to, were clean , friendly , helpful and interesting for all ages. It was voted our best family holiday yet!! Our four year grandson wanted to" stay for ever".Many thanks to everyone concerned.
