We had a lovely stay in the middle of autumn. Perfect for anyone who loves easy access to mountains and places to walk/do arty things!

Quaint little cottage with lovley garden, very private feel to it. Loved the personal touches, extensive games and book collection. Initial fuel for fire consisted of come kindling only, luckily we had brought our own. Conservatory heater comes on at funny times so be prepared for a chilly breakfast. No access to beach or dog walking from property, nearest dog walk a 5 minute drive away. Unfortunately, not impressed with standard of cleanliness: toilet, shower drain and drawers in kitchen looked untouched, not a nice welcome. Unfortunately, unable to contact owner prior to arrival as requested, but instructions can be followed easily.

Although charming the old church was absolutely filthy and cold with no means of being able to switch on any heating. I will be sending you images of the dirt

Our second visit to The Old Church. Lovely character property in a great location. Really comfortable and well equipped. It is beside a busy road but you go down to the property so the road noise isn't a problem. Stunning views from the garden and conservatory.

Quirky wee holy holiday house with loads of interesting nick backs and very well equipped and a comfortable bed in a tight attic space. The only reason we wouldn’t return is that the house is situated on a busy road that does quieten down at night but we like to dump the car when on holiday and walk from the door but this wasn’t possible here. It is well located for exploring the island by car.

We stayed at the Old Church for a week for our honeymoon. With all its quirky furnishings and personal ornaments it was definitely like being in a home away from home. The only reason I have marked it down 1 for comfort and equipment was that it was so hot that we had to buy a fan as we couldn't turn off the heating. We foolishly opened the window one night and promptly got bitten to death by midges. I very much doubt that this would have been a problem had we not had such unusually hot weather for the time of year. The location is great as a base for exploring Skye and the views are absolutely stunning from the conservatory. The local amenities are a good half hour's drive to either Portree or Broadford but there is everything you need. You can walk to the Sligachan Hotel for a drink or to the ferry to Raasay (neither of which we actually did as we were very content staying at the house when we weren't exploring the rest of the island). All in all though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Cottage and will definitely come back in the future.
