Not the best but far from the (our) worst. Pub next door was fine but a shame there were no evening meals. Good location & good travel links. Property a bit tired but all needed was there.

We have stayed at The Croft for over 20 years. Darren is attentive and seeks people's views and feedback in order that any situations are handled first and foremost. The bedrooms are so clean and comfy and the fire is a treat to sit before in the evenings. We did not even watch the television, just sat in the comfort and warmth of this lovely house.

Very pleased with the stay in this property. Only one small thought, and it will only apply to the very lightest of sleepers like me, some secondary glazing if possible would help in the bedrooms of this lovely old listed cottage as it has very old windows.

This is a fantastic cottage with lots of character, not for those that want perfect straight lines and smooth surfaces, but for those looking for character and comfort. The cottage had all that we needed for a family including two late teenage sons. wifi worked perfectly, including outside to the patio which is perfect for an early evening drink. Kitchen is well stocked with the usual pans etc, and the cooker looks barely used, the dishwasher a lovely help to allow you to relax. Plenty of shops, takeaways etc within a 5 minute walk, including a well stocked coop. Previous reports have talked about squirrels, well we didn't see or hear anything during our week, but we did keep food locked away as this is a rural location. The fire in the sitting room looked very appealing, but we were here when the temperature barely dropped below 25 degrees, so no need for us to light it. There are plenty of relaxing walks from the footpath and bridleway starting from right outside the front door, so miles of open countryside begging to be explored. We visited the pub nest door on our next to last evening, what a mistake. Very friendly staff with real ale served straight from the barrel, absolutely wonderful! The only reason I have marked the location down is because the pub has music evenings, I loved them but others may not. Would I recommend - Yes, would I go again - Yes. Darren was great to contact and answered my questions very quickly and efficiently, thank you.

We enjoyed our stay in a week of searing heat. The cottage was well equipped, beds comfortable and there was an abundance of hot water. Equipment included a washer, dish washer, microwave. We ate out with family and friends so cannot comment on the workings of the cooking arrangements. The TV performed well. The cottage, built in the 15th century and sited on a minor road, was charmingly rustic with wood beams, uneven floors, varying floor levels and steep, narrow creaky stairs - these characteristics test a very senior visitor!! The week's high temperatures meant bedroom windows had to be open and we found the traffic quite disturbing from 5 am onwards. Overall very pleasant recollections and, as mentioned earlier, we would choose to stay in "The Croft" again.

This is a delightful, quaint and quirky cottage set in a lovely rural village with a small idyllic, well maintained, pretty and secluded garden to the rear. Stunning Rose of Sharon bushes in full flower and other shrubbery provides total privacy. The garden is fully enclosed which enabled our pet to wander round at his leisure without the worry of him escaping. There was also a summerhouse with a small decked area and even a barbecue for the BBQ enthusiasts. The cottage was extremely well appointed throughout with absolutely everything thought of to make our stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. Whilst the stairs are not suitable for people with mobility issues, the bedrooms were nicely furnished with extremely comfortable beds in both rooms. Unusually, the master bedroom had a super king sized bed comprising two singles joined together and plenty of storage space. Really good sized bathroom on the ground floor with a bath and a really good, powerful shower. It was a bonus having a dining room separate from the lounge and a kitchen which also had a table and chairs. The owners Darren and Karen were very welcoming and accommodating; as was the landlord of the White Lion next door who allowed us to use his car park to avoid on street parking. We were astonished to read the negative review of the previous visitors. Quite frankly there was no evidence of the problem they referred to and there would have been. That said, why visit the countryside if you can't cope with what goes with country life. Equally the garden was certainly not overgrown - it was very much in keeping with such a lovely 15th century country cottage. We stayed for 5 days and hope to have the opportunity of staying again. We were amazed to read of the previous negative review.
