Description

In a blissful country setting, yet only an hour from London, this very comfortable barn conversion offers an ideal base.

Entrance hall. Spacious, beamed living/dining room with rugs on stone floor. Study with Playstation. Beamed farmhouse-style kitchen with door to garden. Utility room. Cloakroom with toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: Two double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room, one with additional single. Bunk bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Electricity, full central heating, bed linen and towels included. Cot. TV. DVD. CD. Playstation 2. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Payphone. Garden with large patio, furniture and barbecue. Ample parking. No smoking. NB: Pond adjacent to property grounds.

This sympathetically converted barn offers beautifully finished and comfortable accommodation, with its own garden and large patio. In a pleasant rural setting just 1 mile from the village of Godstone and 2½ miles from the M25, the barn provides an ideal base from which to visit the many attractions in the area. Set close to the owner’s home and stables in 16 acres of garden and paddocks, it has its own privacy and there is a delightful country pub within 200 yards.

Being close to the M25, the area is busy but Godstone retains a great deal of charm and has a delightful village green and pond, as well as a number of pubs and eateries. Godstone Farm, on the outskirts of the village, is a popular spot with animal interaction and extensive play and picnic areas.

Close by is the British Wildlife Centre and within easy reach is a long list of stately homes, National Trust properties, theme parks and other attractions including Hever Castle, Borde Hill, Ightham Mote, Standen, Wakehurst, Chartwell, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park, The Bluebell Railway and Epsom/Lingfield racecourses. Brighton and the south coast are less than an hour away and local train stations provide easy access to London. Shops 1 mile, pub 200 yards.

A beautiful old country barn, converted with taste and imagination, using materials entirely in keeping with the original. Ideal for an "adventure" holiday with young children - our three grandsons had to be almost dragged from the giant playground which the fields around the farm itself turned into ! As a bonus, the horses in the stableyard and in the top field are another magnet for the children. Ideally situated for the RHS/NT gardens and houses of the Surrey/Sussex area, and with excellent shopping very nearby. Our second stay, and certainly not our last. HIGHLY recommended.

Really well equipped kitchen. We appreciated the milk, bread and spread bought for us. The location is lovely, looking out to fields but v near M25. Floorboards upstairs are a bit creaky. Windows would appreciate a clean. But overall a very comfortable stay.
