Description

This holiday property is located just a few miles away from Glastonbury, famous for its tor and abbey.

This pair of semi-detached converted barns enjoy a peaceful rural setting amongst rolling countryside, yet just a few miles from Glastonbury. The barns have been sympathetically renovated with oak floors and doors, large patio doors and with the original hayloft storage areas converted into galleried bedrooms. Both properties have a private terraced area, with a shared elevated lawned area, and the site is fully enclosed with fencing, ideal for those with pets or children. The Monarchs Way long distance footpath passes just in front of the barns and there are many organised tours, walks and listed footpaths within the immediate area, in the Mendip Hills and along the Somerset Levels. Glastonbury Town Trail and Glastonbury Rural Walk can be followed with ease. Attractions in Glastonbury include climbing up the tor for magnificent views, the Chalice Well and Rural Life Museum, the high street itself encompassing the myths, legends and spiritual ambience of the town, as well as the famous abbey. The city of Wells with its cathedral and Bishops Palace is within a 20-minute drive, as are The Royal Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet and Wookey Hole Caves. The Fleet Air Museum at Yeovilton and Cheddar Gorge are approximately a 30-minute drive. For retail therapy, the factory outlet centre of Clarks Village in Street is a 20-minute drive away. The cities of Bath and Bristol are both within an hours’ drive. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Level access or 6 steps to entrance. Ground floor: Living room with patio doors/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet. Steep, narrow, paddle stairs to galleried twin bedroom.

Freezer.

Both properties: Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Smart TV. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Wi-fi. Shared lawned garden. Patio with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Welcome pack. No smoking. NB: 6 steps in garden.

Everything was ok. But you should have a car on Saturday and Sunday, because there were no buses)) The cottage is nice and cozy. Suitable for family with two children or company of four friends. We enjoyed staying at this cottage. Thank you!

Sometimes online pictures don’t always portray the reality of a property, but we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. Everything was thoughtfully laid out. Also the online picture does not capture the beautiful paving outside the property, etc. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are very steep, but shouldn’t be a problem for older children if they are careful.

The cottage was lovely. It was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable and had everything we needed. There was an issue with the WiFi the day we arrived, which the caretaker sorted out very quickly and the bed was a bit too soft for our taste, but otherwise I couldn't fault anything. It was ideally located for Galstonbury and there is some wonderful walking in the area. I recommend walking up Glastonbury Tor because the views are absolutely stunning.

One of two modern cottages down country lane in rural Somerset - 10-14 mins from the Bath Showground. Wasn't fully aware of the bedroom facilities from the description - being up such a severe paddle staircase, was extreme, difficult to get a case up and dangerous to walk down for some and especially in the night. No real curtains - so very light, modern feel and French doors were lovely during the days, especially when weather was good- but the upstairs bedroom having two some time squeaky beds, two people may get disturbed sleep and early mornings! It was remote but passed a few lovely pubs nearby, and very quiet most of the time - possible to walk down the lane I expect but we were working long hours so didn't have chance. TV signal and wifi often hit and miss. Lovely shower room - good shower, well equipped kitchenette, washing machine with dryer combined, doors in bedroom and lounge open out fully but no windows to leave open whilst out. Table top freezer in hallway .Great base I expect for area or festival or showground events
