Description

Overlooking the village green, ideal for walkers with paths close by, Warwick Castle and Stratford a short drive.

Situated on a former orchard, Willow Cottage enjoys an enviable position in the pretty North Cotswold village of Paxford, close to the Cotswold Way. Constructed of Mellow Cotswold stone the property is surrounded by a good sized garden with a variety of maturing trees to the front, a stone driveway and offering two car parking spaces. The property faces a narrow quiet lane bordered by mature trees and therefore the property is not overlooked. The back garden is completely enclosed and private and has a variety of garden furniture, a bbq and large patio area. The level garden is surrounded by cottage garden flowers and shrubs giving colour well into the autumn. The property is bordered at the back by the village green and a little used under 5’s play area with one or two picnic tables and benches.
Paxford is a small village which enjoys a refurbished inn dating back to the 17th century, serving food, and only 5 minutes’ walk along the lane. Chipping Campden can be found just 2 miles away where there is a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Campden is known as the ’Jewel of the Cotswolds’; the old market place dates back to the 17th century and is a popular tourist attraction.
Paxford is ideally situated for those wishing to enjoy the beautiful Cotswolds countryside either by car or on foot. There are many attractions to visit locally including the delightful ancient villages of Blockley, Broadway, Snowshill, with its delightful lavender fields in July, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Winchcombe, and Bourton-on-the-Water to mention just a few.
Stratford upon Avon, home of William Shakespeare and Warwick Castle are a short drive away. Paxford is also well placed to visit the Regency town of Cheltenham, home of the world famous Gold Cup week. Shops 2 miles, pub/restaurant 440 yards.

Willow Cottage is beautifully maintained and very comfortable. We have been several times and keep coming back as it is makes a good base for hiking in the Cotswolds and has everything you could possibly need in a holiday cottage. It certainly ticks all the boxes - many thanks for great attention to detail. It is much appreciated ! Sue

This is a lovely cottage in a quiet location with fabulous walks on the doorstep. We find it a home from home and this was our third stay. It is exceptionally clean and well presented. Perfect for families.

A delightful cottage in a beautiful location. Minor negatives would be the lack of provision for hanging out washing and dust round door frames, skirting boards etc. Overall an excellent base for a superb holiday.

Response on behalf of the owner; Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful location of Willow Cottage. There is no washing line to use in the garden however; we do provide a concertina clothes dryer for guests to use. As regards to your comments regarding dust around the door frames etc. it is the ethos of both caretaker and Owners to present a clean and well-presented house for guests. The majority of our guests have always left positive comments and indeed awarded us top marks for cleaning so we were disappointed to receive the score that you gave. That said, it was nice to see that you scored the location and comfort of the Cottage high.

Fab house lovely area could do with a new sofa as that one is a bit awkward to get out of now just after years of use I think but everything else perfect
