Description

Overlooking the village green, ideal for walkers with paths close by, Warwick Castle and Stratford a short drive.

Situated on a former orchard, Willow Cottage enjoys an enviable position in the pretty North Cotswold village of Paxford, close to the Cotswold Way. Constructed of Mellow Cotswold stone the property is surrounded by a good sized garden with a variety of maturing trees to the front, a stone driveway and offering two car parking spaces. The property faces a narrow quiet lane bordered by mature trees and therefore the property is not overlooked. The back garden is completely enclosed and private and has a variety of garden furniture, a bbq and large patio area. The level garden is surrounded by cottage garden flowers and shrubs giving colour well into the autumn. The property is bordered at the back by the village green and a little used under 5’s play area with one or two picnic tables and benches.
Paxford is a small village which enjoys a refurbished inn dating back to the 17th century, serving food, and only 5 minutes’ walk along the lane. Chipping Campden can be found just 2 miles away where there is a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Campden is known as the ’Jewel of the Cotswolds’; the old market place dates back to the 17th century and is a popular tourist attraction.
Paxford is ideally situated for those wishing to enjoy the beautiful Cotswolds countryside either by car or on foot. There are many attractions to visit locally including the delightful ancient villages of Blockley, Broadway, Snowshill, with its delightful lavender fields in July, Upper and Lower Slaughter, Winchcombe, and Bourton-on-the-Water to mention just a few.
Stratford upon Avon, home of William Shakespeare and Warwick Castle are a short drive away. Paxford is also well placed to visit the Regency town of Cheltenham, home of the world famous Gold Cup week. Shops 2 miles, pub/restaurant 440 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors. Dining room/kitchen. Utility room. Separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin, 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath.

Nice house, comfortable with all necessary amenities. Only downfall was lack of shop within walking distance. Garden was pleasant but weather prevented us from using it.

Beautiful, peaceful & spotlessly clean cottage with a stunning garden. Great location with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed days out with our two young children at Sudeley Castle, Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens and a steam train ride on the Gouchestershire Warwickshire railway. We loved picturesque Bourton on the Water and there were also plenty of lovely places to eat nearby. Fantastic holiday and we will be recommending it to our friends and family.

our second visit to willow cottage, comfortable and well presented, good location

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review of Willow Cottage and we are pleased to see that you have returned for a second time. We are sorry that you gave us a very low score of just 3/10 for the local amenities category. Whilst we appreciate some people prefer a more busy location, rather than a quiet peaceful area, we make every effort to describe the house accurately and indeed the description states that Paxford is a small rural village with just one pub. It also states that many shops, pubs and restaurants can be found at Chipping Campden which is just two miles away (a five minute drive along quiet country lanes). Similarly, the pretty village of Blockley is just two miles away which has two pubs, a shop/post office/café. As with many of our returning guests, we hope you will be visiting Willow Cottage for a third time.

Had a brilliant week here. Central for all of the north Cotswolds and Stratford on Avon and Banbury. Cottage very warm, comfortable and with plenty of kitchen equipment. Very quiet and little road noise.

Very comfortable and well equipped, although the dishwasher broke down the first time we tried to use it and wasn't repaired during our stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry that the dishwasher broke down during your stay, unfortunately, we had no prior knowledge of this upon your arrival. As you alerted us the day following your arrival (on Saturday) we were unable to contact the engineer until the following Monday. Upon his inspection of the dishwasher he informed us that he would have to order a part. Unfortunately, the part did not arrive before your departure and so there was little that we could do to rectify the problem. We are happy to say that the dishwasher is now in working order.
