Description

Enjoy a special occasion at this property, where gourmet meals can be arranged and which also has its own hot tub.

Nestling in the pretty Norfolk countryside close to the heart of the Norfolk Broads, Willow Barn and single-storey Beech Barn are detached holiday properties dating back to the 1700s, situated in the grounds of the owner’s home. Providing a perfect retreat for discerning larger family groups, these converted barns offer spacious and comfortable accommodation boasting beamed interiors, wood-burning stoves and enclosed separate gardens with private hot tubs, and for a special meal or family celebration gourmet meals can be arranged with the owner. Beech Farm Barns are ideally located for all the family and for nature lovers there is an abundance of bird life. Within walking distance is Alderfen Broad, which is situated in The Broads National Park, a bird watcher’s delight. For the children there is BeWILDerwood Adventure Park with its treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges and boat trips, which all combined makes a great day out. Nearby is the attractive Broads village of Horning with its selection of tea shops, restaurants and pubs. A day boat can be hired directly from the owner, or book a trip on the Mississippi steamer. The sandy beaches of the North Norfolk Coast are only 10 miles away. Alternatively spend a day in the fine city of Norwich with its magnificent cathedrals, castle, museums, theatres, market and vast array of cafes and shops. There is a wealth of National Trust properties to visit in the area which include Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Park (one of the finest 17th-century country Jacobean houses in East Anglia), Blickling Hall (a magnificent house with woodlands and lakeside walks) and Sheringham Park (beautifully landscaped and renowned for its spectacular displays of azaleas and rhododendrons in late spring). Shops and pub 1½ miles.

Fantastic cottage had a wonderful time, only complaint was the amount of wasps, there may be a best somewhere nearby but apart from that beautiful cottage!

Pros: spacious layout and living space, bathroom for every room was fab, quiet location, large enclosed garden, hot tub, lots of room for parking Cons: sofas and carpets tired, dining chairs with wobbly legs, showers over baths with no curtains, cobwebs on ceilings, splattered bugs on the walls (not by us!), one of the upstairs rooms with no opening windows was extremely hot and stuffy. Markings on oven faded so can't see which knob was for which ring without turning them on. We are a large family and rent a house together every year. This house sadly did not live up to everyone's expectations, although very spacious with a lovely big garden, the interior does need some maintenance and updating.

Excellent holiday consisting of eight adults and two eight year old children. Layout of property ideal and comfortable. As the weather was cold we used the heating and were cosy. Slept well and used the hot tub which was a god send. Lovely. Owners very friendly and helpful. Took advantage of Chef2dine4 which was recommended, a real treat and an excellent evening. Great local pub The White Horse Inn in nearby village Neatishead. Hope to visit again and perhaps take advantage of a boat next time.

This is the 4th time I have visited this property and although it is a lovely place, I did feel it is starting to tire somewhat. Dining room chairs legs bit wobbly, plug socket in first downstairs bedroom bit dangerous and showers needed unblocking as were filling up rather quickly also didn't have enough champagne glasses for 12. In saying this, had a fantastic weekend, owners were polite and helpful, would definitely recommend.

Great holiday. Lack of attention to detail in this property. Couldn't read temperatures on cooker-they had worn away. Lots of light bulbs out & plug socket not fastened to the wall properly. However it was warm ,comfortable & spacious and a very sociable property.

12 girlies celebrating a 30th birthday - Willow Barn was the perfect property for us. Plenty of room, all rooms with ensuites was ideal, loved the hot tub. Especially loved being able to get a meal cooked for us courtesy of Avril at Chef2dine4 which was excellent.

Absolutely gorgeous barn. We went with a few friends and children and had a fabulous weekend. The end room with the cot was a bit cooler than everywhere else but was comfortable. We would definitely recommend and go again!

The drains are somthing to be desired dishwasher had water come back up and it stunk, three of the people had a shower and the water came through the ceiling on reporting it to the owner his advise was common sence would be to shut the door when showering which i thought was rather rude, of course the door was shut, there were signs of a leak before as there were water marks, toilet roll holder and towel holder hanging off, electric tripped twice, found it a little strange that the upstairs windows were seeled units thought this was a bit of a fire risk, it was a very nice place but not 5* as stated i feel the place needs some tlc to bring it up to the 5* as stated. but the suroundings were lovely and we had a very nice time.

We had a fab time at Willow Barn. I don't think that there is very much to be disappointed about, the location was great especially if you have a dog. the only thing I would say is the very back bedroom downs stairs (the one with the cot in it) was very cold and smelt quite damp I don't think the radiators down that end got very hot to warm the room up. but that is the only thing, but it didn't ruin our time there, the hot tub was fantastic and really enjoyed by all. Thanks you for a lovely week at you're fab Barn I'm sure we will be back

Very good property for a large group. We had a pleasant stay. The only concern was we could not lock the door as the lock was faulty therefore a security risk whilst we were out and about
